With the F-22 Raptor, the Air Force acquired un equaled power to project air dominance. Lockheed Martin’s single-seat, twin-engined, all-weather fighter blended stealth, supercruise, great agility, and all-sensing avionics. Those features, plus high reliability and low maintenance, marked a huge leap in capability over USAF’s own F-15 Eagle, long the class of air combat. Indeed, the F-22 could not be matched by any known or projected fighter.

Then they pissed it away with the F35.
Now I see they are adding pylons and pop-gun pods to the F35. There goes stealth. No ammo.

Where is the Mig-29 and Su-27 and later variants?
It would be interesting to see those added as well. I bet they are at the F-15/18/22 size. F-35 is a smaller plane, with only one engine. And expensive. If it was cheap, I might understand.
If we made a thousand of them they wouldn’t be so expensive.
SU-27 and 35s are substantially bigger than a F-22 Raptor.
I am surprised how large the F-15 is on this comparison. They had an old A model or such outside the exhibit hangar on Ford Island to be prepped for the display. I was shocked how small the thing was. Of course, I spent time around the F-4B, so most every other fighter seems small on the ground.
Raptor may go back into production.

Well... how maneuverable is it at that speed? I sure doesn’t look like it’s very stealthy in it’s design! What good is it if it can only go 1305MPH in a straight line???

Well, it must be able to turn...and it is fast from point a to point B....that counts for something...SURELY!
The F-35 was not intended to be a ‘air dominance fighter’. It has a different role.
You can make pods stealthy.
The F-22 also can carry external ordinance.
So... when they turn and run from our guys (and now gals, gays and trannies) the can be certain they can outrun ‘em, right???
