The first wave of genetically modified mosquitoes were released Wednesday in the Cayman Islands as part of a new effort to control the insect that spreads Zika and other viruses, officials in the British Island territory said.
Genetically altered male mosquitoes, which don’t bite but are expected to mate with females to produce offspring that die before reaching adulthood, were released in the West Bay area of Grand Cayman Island, according to a joint statement from the Cayman Islands Mosquito Research and Control Unit and British biotech firm Oxitec. …

Utter and complete crap. Remember where the mosquitoes came from that carry Zika .... they were engineered and released in South America.
What needs to be done is to impeach the Surgeon General, the Director of the CDC, and the head of Homeland Security. A year ago they could have slapped a quarantine on travel to and from South America to keep the disease from infecting native mosquitoes while they DDT’ed the heck out of South America.
The MM rent-a-doc, LaPoop, was on TV whining that the CDC didn’t have another couple of billion for their post-Obama slush fund. Yep, the slush fund to be used, not for Zika, but for converting children to queers with a pediatric agenda, propaganda for climate change, and counting and registering the number of guns in childrens families.
The Democrats are against this “species-ist” aggression. Expect safe spaces for mosquitoes next!
Why do they feel the need to modify them? There is already abundant varieties of blood suckers in the Democratic party.
