CUOMO: Who takes the fall for cribbing Michelle Obama's speech in 2008? Whose fault is that?
MANAFORT: Well, there's no cribbing of Michelle Obama's speech. These were common words and values that she cares about her family, that uh, that things like that. I mean, she was speaking in front of 35 million people last night - she knew that. I mean, to think that she would be cribbing Michelle Obama's words is crazy. I mean it's so, I mean once again, an example of a when a woman threatens Hillary Clinton how she seeks out to demean her and take her down. It's not going to work.
CUOMO: All I'm saying is the language is strikingly similar. I'm not making a big deal of it; I know everybody is talking about it this morning, but I don't think it's an allegation, it's not some suggestion without proof. I don't know why the campaign doesn't just own it and say people borrow phrases, that's what happened, and movie on? That's what, ironically, Obama did in 2008 when Clinton said he cribbed from Deval Patrick. He said, "Yeah, you're right, I did it."
MANAFORT: No, no he did do it. That's correct. But in this particular case, you know, there was a process certainly of collaboration that.. Certainly there's no feeling on her part that she did it. You know, what she did was use words that are common words, and to expect her to, to think that she would do something like that knowing how scrutinized her speech was going to be last night, is just really absurd.
CUOMO: Right, but again, that's assuming that it was Melania. I'm assuming that there were writers involved, but if that's the way you want to explain it, that's up to you. Let me ask you about something else.

I think they need to hire new speech writers. Fox played the two speeches side by side and it’s almost word for word. I can’t believe a professional speech writer wouldn’t at least modify the language to make it sound more unique. They aren’t even good at plagiarism, let alone speech writing.
Must’ve been a bang-up speech if this is all the Leftists have.
Who in the world would even read a Cow speech, let alone copy it?
You are allowing this to completely drown out the emotionally devastating speech Sean Smith’s mother gave last night and how it will resonate with voters. Hillary Clinton knows this and that’s why it’s bimbo eruption 101 all over again.

The funny thing about this is people can’t decide if the Speechwriter rickrolled Melania, or if Melania rickrolled the RNC or it is was just one big giant rickroll from Trump.

You can’t plagiarize cliches. They are often voiced and repeated without any identifiable source. That is why they are cliches. Mrs. Obama was not the first to use those phrases in public speaking.
You give the media an opening....they’re going to exploit it.

It’s plain that the writer drew heavily on Obama’s speech. To deny it is silly.
There were at least 8 very similar sections/phrases, and the final sentences are nearly word-for-word identical.
I suspect sabotage.
Total non story. Most people could care less unless they are on the Never Trump wagon. The same points said are universal values. Move on and get over it. This whole thing is a nothing burger.
