I Got A New Kitteh!
A farm in Meeshigan | 07/17/16 | The Proud Father

Posted on 07/17/2016 9:00:41 AM PDT by Celtic Conservative

Greeting, Kitteh lovers everywhere. I just got a new Furbaby! I Lost my dear Suzie Q about 7 weeks ago. I was just heartbroken. Of all the cats, she was "my" cat. While departing the vet with an empty Cat carrier (a truly crappy experience) I noticed a sign up advertising kittens. Despite my sadness something said "take the number" , so I did. I exchanged texts and photos with the mama cats owner and picked one out. I just got home with her. She is a grayish brown "dilute" tortoiseshell with a facial "blaze" on her right cheek which is tan. Her feet are all tan too, as well as a chest ruffle. It's almost like a sealpoint pattern. Her name is "Dr. Annabell Pepper" or Pepper for short. She is a graduate of the Dr. Tinycat school of veterinary medicine at Embry-O university. She will be staying in the bedroom with me for a few days with "supervised" introductions to the other cats. She's already growled at the other cats through the baby gate. I suspect she will be running the joint within the year. Just having fun with my new little girl.

Though the fur babies we lost cannot be replaced in our hearts, there is the sweet truth that opening our lives to another one needing a good home has the power to heal our hearts. Congrats on getting a new kitteh! They are SO sweet!

Git yerself outta the basement and find a girlfrind.........

Here's my new Kitty Daisy.

She just showed up one day. I live in the country, and it's a shame, but someone abandoned this tiny thing!

She showed up two weeks ago. My small indoor dog Pumpkin started running around looking out the windows and barking. She then ran to the side door where my big German Shepherd outside dog (GSD) was chained. I saw this kitty walking up to the big dog. Luckily the GSD was caught around a bush. I opened the door to shoo away the kitty and Pumpkin ran out between my legs and attacked the kitty while my GSD was snapping at both of them trying to get a bite! I picked up the kitty with one hand, Pumpkin with the other, and used a free leg to push away the GSD. Got back in the house with the two little ones. Whew!!!

Well, the little kitty was so friendly and cute. I decided to keep her. Named her Daisy.

Here she is:

Here, Pumpkin formally meets Daisy. While not buddies yet, Pumpkin does not go after her anymore.

I did the same. In the early morning hours of August 4, 2012,
my favorite cat of all time, My Rocket, a perfectly lovable
Maine Coon passed away of chronic renal failure.

He had a euthanasia appointment that morning, and we kept it
with his corpse. He was cremated, and he’s in a nice little
wooden box with a pretty embossed metal plate on the top.

My dear friend Salamander helped us to keep him a few years
longer when she recommended renal water (Real Water), alkalized
water that is safe for cat’s kidneys. We gave him nothing but
for at least two years, but sadly, he eventually passed.

I still cry and miss him, and I’m waiting to find him at the
Rainbow Bridge when my time comes.

Plus, Bryan (hubby) and I did some reading up about cats’ kidneys,
and we have fed them nothing but Feline Renal Food ever since,
and we’re going to keep it that way. No cat will die of
renal failure in this house ever again, over my dead body.

CONGRATULATIONS!! I am sorry about the loss of your one kitty but I am also happy that you rescued one. She sounds beautiful. Good luck with the whole new socialization thing with the other kitty pack.... sounds difficult? (((Hugs))) Mom

Nah,, it’s just a settling in period. They all have to figure out where she fits in in the pecking order and territorially. There will be some short term unfreindliness, but one will befreind her. Then she’s “in”. This is the sixth cat I’ve raised. It’s always interesting to see how the process plays out. I probably would’ve had this posted five minutes ago, but she keeps chewing on my fingers!
