BFL. Situational awareness is something we should be teaching our sons and daughters.

Simply put, if you sense something is wrong, it probably is.

Good article. Situational awareness is the first rule of self defense.

I think it was the Chinese philosopher Mencius (a follower of Confucius) who said: “you don’t need to speak (to me). What you are is already screaming at me.”

How to Develop the Situational Awareness of Jason Bourne Have someone throw a bag over your head and throw you in a tank of water. That was his whole training program. $30,000,000

While I cannot claim to have Jason Bourne's SA (situational awareness), I do believe mine is heightened due to having been robbed once in a store where I worked. It was a situation in which everyone was forced to lie face down on the floor while our valuables were taken by the armed thieves (this was over 30 years ago, so they could have been brothers, but not sons of Obama).
Since that time, I look for perps everywhere. Like wild Bill Hickok, I like to sit where I am facing the door. I liken it to that sci-fi movie "They Live", in which the earth had been taken over by aliens who looked normal; but with special glasses, one could see the true alien's face. Being robbed at gunpoint strips a filter off your eyesight and makes things clearer.

I practice it as much as I can when I am out and about. But usually, my wife is talking and she gets perturbed because she thinks I'm not paying attention to her.

More like situational awareness of a lefty socialist hypocrite like Matt Demon.

Matt Damon is a liberal actor. He has no awareness. It was just a movie.

Last night on CNN they interviewed a young American woman in Nice who kept saying, “I couldn’t believe there could be anything wrong...”

Look up from your smartphone, dont zone outIn the videos from last night in Nice, everyone had their noses in their phones. No one was paying any attention. It was amazing no one was accidentally hit crossing the street. How could any of them possibly think that crisis was over or the second wave wasn't immanent?
