The line between a war (typically requiring two political entities) and an insurrection can be hard to draw. The dead shooter was quoted by the chief as saying he “was upset about Black Lives Matter,” that is to say, he identified with Black Lives Matter and wanted to “kill white people.” He claimed he was acting alone and not as part of any group. I’m skeptical. When one shooter starts firing that might be a lone act. When four do it, I look for a conspiracy and I want to know who is behind it. (I have some ideas.)

The practical matter of 12-15% of the population creating a nationwide civil war is ludicrous. The largest concentrations are in areas of free and easy entitlements and congregations run by black city/urban administrations.
They essentially fight their own power structure and have to deal with them irrationally, and all it takes is several days/weeks of no re-supply and their whole movement collapses because once they move outside those protected enclaves, the meet the populace that is ready for them - armed to the teeth. And they won’t be in a friendly mood.
The numbers aren’t there and if this black government can’t put them under control, there might likely be a conflagration, but it won’t be the one they expect.
A wiser FReeper than I once commented, "When Blacks riot, they burn down their own neighborhoods. When Whites riot, they burn down continents."
Things are starting to get frisky. Hopefully, the powers that be have enough sense to de-escalate. We'll know in a week or so.
