The facts known about actions taken by Hillary Clinton while secretary of state surrounding the use of an unsecure private email server for conducting government business show that she violated 10 federal statutes. Several are national-security-related felonies, just three of which include: 1. disclosure of classified information (22 documents were Top Secret), 2. unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents, and 3. destruction of evidence (erasure of the hard drive and deletion of some 30,000 emails by Secretary Clinton) after a government investigation had commenced (Benghazi hearings began Oct. 10, 2012).
Comey knows of a related but lesser law violation in handling classified material by General David Petraeus that was recently adjudicated. Petraeus was fined $100,000 and sentenced to two years' probation for providing his personal notebooks containing classified information to his biographer, although no classified information was ever exposed. Hillary Clinton's email server containing more voluminous classified and Top Secret information was reportedly breached and exposed by notorious Romanian hacker "Guccifer" and by the Russians (who have 20,000 Clinton server emails in their possession). So Comey can't easily give Secretary Clinton a pass and at the same time be true to his oath of office.
The country is now at the edge of an abyss from years of obfuscation, unaccountability, subterfuge and law evasion by the Obama administration that have numbed much of its citizenry into an acceptance of government corruption and abuse of power.

Remember Sandy Berger? He stole classified national security documents about 9/11 by stuffing them into his socks and pants to remove them from the Archives. He worked for the Clinton’s and got only a slap on the wrist. Iirc Comey was involved in that case, too.
No rush, plenty of time to keep kicking the can down the road.
Trust me, I don’t trust Comey very much either. If no indictment, we are DOOMED as a country!
Comey proving that he’s in the tank would be the final nail.
There’s so much wrong that we can’t agree on a core crime to get behind prosecuting them over.
The document burning is a red herring. As long as originals were kept, copies could and should have been burned. They’re doing all kinds of stuff to distract from the key issues.
And there needs to be a reckoning for that dereliction of duty, even if it comes 20 years too late.
‘what do you mean, will effectively become illegitimate? It already is.
That is not even the question anymore. The question is, what are people going to do about it?’
Correct. It seems obvious, but the fact that the corrupt are already in power makes it very unlikely that Hillary will be indicted.
The article omits that.
First question is: What will the FBI investigators do abut it?
The FBI doesn't tell the prosecutor what to do. If the FBI finds probable cause a crime was committed, they forward a report to the prosecutor. If the FBI does not find probable cause a crime was committed, it does not forward the results of its investigation. I would guess that most FBI files are never sent to the DOJ.
If the FBI forwards a file to DOJ, that means (without more) that the FBI believes there is probable cause a crime was committed.
That said, I think this case is different. Lynch describes a "team" of both FBI and prosecutors. The same principle applies though. The FBI side of the team provides evidence, the prosecutor side decides whether or not and how to proceed with charging.
-- If either of them fail to do what the law demands, the government will effectively become illegitimate ... --
We're past that point already. Thousands of examples, few of which make the news. The Courts make up stuff to suit social and public policy, Congress long ago abdicated it's role in keeping the executive and courts in check. The government's authority flows from the barrel of a gun.
Hopefully, Mr. Manafort can instill some discipline in messaging and keep Trump's fire well aimed.
As to Hillary's crimes, I don't see how they can be overlooked. To do so would make a complete mockery of national security and the government itself. It would be a step into lawlessness that I don't think can ever be walked back.
The above listed material, as far as Hillary is concerned, don’t mean squat.
Comey is totally owned and controlled by obama. Comey, at the end of the day , will do as obama tells him to. Which will be to clear Hillary.
The WORST thing about Comey is that OBAMA APPOINTED HIM!!! Obama appoints NO ONE that is UPRIGHT and DECENT!!
“You dont get that high in the regime unless Obama has 100% control over you.”
It used to be - when the U.S. was a real country - that they would do a background check to make sure you were clean. Now they do it to make sure they can blackmail you.
The people who you are alluding to have been reared with utmost respect for the law, despite what leaders do. The catalyst for any form of rebellion would warrant a breach in that foundation that violates our conservative nature. Although we would be legitimately fighting to right an immense wrong, initiating so would be as alien as breathing fluorine.
Each person would have to find his own litmus and once met would then need to find others that have discovered that Caesar has crossed the Rubicon.
that MAKES sense, but still, Trump says loudly “she burned documents!!” that’s got TO have an effect on even the dumbest.
The alternative to the end of law isn't always anarchy. Tyranny is the other consequence. As long as the elite can command the military and LEOs, whether ours or the UN's to shoot American citizens and drone our towns and jackboot our homes, they will be able to retain control for a couple of years.
Comey is the new Justice Roberts who will save us from the evil Democrats
