About 1.6M drop-outs from health law coverage this year

About 1.6 million people who signed up for coverage this year under President Barack Obama’s health care law dropped out by the end of March, according to administration figures released late Thursday.

The report from the Health and Human Services department said some 11.1 million people were still signed up. But that’s a drop of nearly 13 percent from the 12.7 million who initially enrolled for subsidized private coverage this year. Those dropouts failed to seal the deal by paying their premiums. …

We lost ours this year thanks to mess that is the insurance scheme. Got family insurance but none for me. No one offering alternatives. Stupid.

We lost ours, employer provided, March 1st, through a union. Got offer in the mail to continue coverage with COBRA for a measly $2074 A MONTH, HAH! O'Shitcare, peeked at it, got a headache rapidly, $500+ a month with an $8K deductible was the average I saw. For this year I believe the O'Shitcare fine is up to $695 a month, awesome. There's a worksheet with some percentages so it doesn't come out to the full $695 hopefully, 2015 was $325 a month and 2014 was $95. We had $439 deducted from our refund for the 'SHARED RESPONSIBILITY PAYMENT', aka FINE for 2014 and last year was $320. Husband has to work X amount of hours to maintain coverage, missed it by 39 lousy hours to keep ours. Our coverage started in June 2015 and gone by Feb. 28, this year...first time we'd gotten it back since mid-2009..because the Obozo economy has been THAT good and union work has been the worst it's ever been since 1989 (when he joined) for my husband.

Those people DO get free “helfcare”; my town had billboards in Spanish not only encouraging da-me-estos (Latino gibsmedats) to enroll, but specifically pointing out that they could qualify for subsidies.

Just to pour salt on the open Obamacare wound, here in New York the Obamacare Medicaid plan is called Fidelis. (Rhymes with Castro) Medical groups that sign up and accept Fidelis must by contract make appointments within four weeks. So after you pay your premium and deductible your appointment could be bumped for someone getting healthcare for free. So the government healthcare just like immigration moves the losers to the front of the line.
