A Red Cross Hospital signboard that carried a "super racist" message about swim safety guidelines for children prompted an apology from the hospital on Tuesday.
The dialogue opened on Twitter after a photo circulated of the poster in Fort Morgan, Colorado. The poster, which has since been taken down, read at the top: "Be Cool, Follow the Rules." Below the heading were depictions of children playing. The white children were labeled as behaving "cool" while children of color were depicted as misbehaving, or "not cool," for breaking pool safety rules.
Red Cross has since confirmed that it has discontinued the production of the poster and has already removed it from the hospital's website and Swim App.

Once upon a time, it had power and meant something. Now, not.
You are correct sir.
I don't want to give the professional racists out there any ideas, but has anyone said that clouds are racist?
My sainted mother, grandmother and a sibling used to go feed the troops at the local train station, working in shifts. It wasn’t a Red Cross thing, and they weren’t wealthy. It was a big deal for everyone.
Thanks for posting. The ad really is very interesting. With every detail of artwork and ad copy so scrutinized nowadays, I’m surprised this got through.
I don't. You leapt to that conclusion.
I'm a student of WWII and am familiar with the good work of the Red Cross but had not heard about the coffee and doughnuts controversy. My source on that is an NPR story that used the Red Cross Archivist as its source. If the Red Cross fesses up to it that's pretty good authority.
I think Snopes is pretty good on Internet hoaxes and scams but I find it unreliable on issues with political angles and don't trust it on those. I did see the Snopes article and the Ike quote also corroborates the story.
I know from extensive reading that American soldiers were paid at least twice as much as the Brits and generally three times the British rate, plus got perks like free cigarettes, plus their chow and equipment was better. That caused a lot of friction in the UK. Remember, when we got in the war it was already was three years old in Britain, the country was broke and on severe rationing. Girls were attracted to the generous GI's with plenty of spending money. The alliance was a great success but the Army had to work hard at it. The first Thanksgiving in Britain, in 1942, the American troops donated their turkeys to UK orphanages and hospitals. The Brits never forgot.
Doesn't sound like much, but it was a lot more than the Brits were being paid. Plus, all food, a cigarette ration (very valuable), uniforms (for enlisted) and housing was provided at no charge.
Lol...some people’s victim kids, I swear.
Lynch him!
Whoops, so sorry, I meant to say "Lynch him or her!" No really, I didn't mean to offend women by leaving them out of my comment. It was a thoughtless mistake! Some of my best friends are women! Oh, how can I ever apologize for my disgusting sexist insensitivity?
(Please, President Trump, make political correctness go away.)
—the Red Cross charged for coffee because a fellow named Eisenhower decreed it—knowing that if it was free , it would be wasted.
—if it was taking up space on transport ships that could have been occupied by munitions, it was to be drank-—
Yep.
It’s racist because they refused to let Mr. Miyagi do a crane kick even once.
I wish I was not serious.
Oberlin College which charges parents $64,000 to "educate" their children, recently face a controversy where students were protesting racist meals where i.e., non Mexicans were preparing Mexican cuisine. This was said to amount to cultural appropriation, and was deemed a microagression.
PC insanity.
