Ok, I'm leaving Chicago to go to Atlanta (I know, I know, one murdering violent hell-hole to another) and see my brother Laz.
Any parting words of advice from all of you who know him best?
Should I up the life insurance?
Oh, and if you want an authentic Japanese isakaya (Salaryman after work eating and drinking establishment with a wide-ranging menu), Shoya isn’t too far from Laz.
Chicks and tiggers, on the other hand, are loads of fun.
I’ll keep him away from the Underground. That place went real bad.
Laz is already the master.
There is nothing anybody can do or say that will change that.
Meeting him will always be a disappoint for him.
This is the world we live in.
If he’s in the mood for Korean/Thai/Chinese mix, I’ll take him to the place I got you to. Did we get there or am I thinking of someone else?
Agenda should probably be:
Shootin range 6-7, the 7+ go to a place to nosh.
I am never disappoint. Not to meet usc.
Rock me gently...
If it is hot you can always take the cable car to the top. It really does have a nice view.
Lucky you... of course it just might be that my particular experience in GA biases my view.
I am never disappoint
ok, so you’re just a tease?
I don’t buy that for a second.
From the 11th floor of the place I last worked at, you could see the dome of Stone Mountain. :)
I am from the sticks but I know what a strip club is. I’ve heard of these places they call a strip maul and I can’t imagine what happens there. Maybe you all could visit one? You wouldn’t have to tell me out loud the goings on and embarrass anyone. We could use a code, like binary.
There was once a happenin` place in Atlanta called Ponytails.
So I heard, mind you.
Ride MARTA cross town at night. Or bicycle the Silver Comet trail. Either should give you a good adrenalin boost if you survive contact with the natives.
On a more serious note - if you like history visit the site of the Yankee defeat at Kennesaw Mountain (which isn’t in Kennesaw) Good views from the mountain top, and some preserved earthworks off of Ga 120 (Whitlock Ave/Dallas Highway) west of the high school on the same side of the highway. Also a large National Cemetery and a smaller Confederate one located a few miles apart in Marietta. Then up the road to Kennesaw to see the General.
In Atlanta, the Cyclorama has been restored, and the Texas used to be located there, as well (haven’t been in decades).
If you want to see how Native Americans really lived, run a couple of hours up the road toward Chattanooga and visit the Chief Vann house http://gastateparks.org/ChiefVannHouse/
Of course, I'm foot loose and fancy free most days of the week.
Someone mentioned Athens.
If you enjoy looking at pretty girls I can’t think of a better place.
Plus the engineers who designed the expressways and exits had a collective IQ of 10.
I've eaten a couple times at a tea room called Mary Mac's. GREAT Southern cooking!!
The Varsity. Actually not downtown; up near Ga. Tech. You can load up on grease that will loosen any stiff joints. I recommend the onion rings.
Your are the real deal.
To falter now would send millions of people into a world of uncertainty.
We are all looking to you for direction.
