Was this guy some type of hero?
OK. But why did he keep the name of Muhammad? Why not return to the name he was born with? Did he ever even think that Muhammad was a slave trader murderous pedophile? I doubt it.
No. Sports figure that became known for his draft ducking and affiliation with the Nation of Idiots anti-white organization.
A talented and devastating boxer that could have evaded the hammer on anvil blows of even Tyson, he deserves nothing more than a back page note in your local neighborhood shopper.
Do not let the major media lefty communist sports networks drivel stick to your boots.
When really we are just old and cranky.
We?
Speak for your self.
I wasn’t trying to be funny.
I think the entire 3 hours of cable news networks devotion to it was the humors part
Do not let the major media lefty communist sports networks drivel stick to your boots
It hasn’t...but all 3 networks,3 hours........give me a frigen break
Great boxer...yes
Hero... not a chance.
Do you and I completely renounce everything we bought into at a young and impressionable age, especially when it is so close to our identity, racially or otherwise? I doubt it. The guy did his best IMO.
Kudos.
This dead Negro former Olympic boxer, who was a draft dodger, wet on every grave of every G.I. in Arlington with his action.
I thought muzzies buried their dead right away.
True believers I suppose......with in 24 hours.
So much for true believers
Did they find out who the real father was?
Got a hand print on my face. Thanks obie.
Heard snippets of Clay’s eulogies, one by Billy Crystal, funny but respectful, and one by Bryant Gumbel that almost made me puke.
Bumbel, who I consider a racist, amateur sports journalist, said that this time Clay “had fallen and he wasn’t getting up.”
Well, I’m not a Christian but I think better words of respect for Clay would be “his body has fallen and won’t be getting up, but his spirit has risen to the heavens”.
Since Clay/Ali was a Moslem, I don’t know where his spirit is going since I don’t think he would want to be up there somewhere with a child-rapist/pedophile and genocidal maniac.
Cassius Clay/Mohammed Ali was a man of many parts, like so many others. There were good parts, bad parts, and some in-between. We can admire his athletic prowess but criticize his anti-America action (draft-dodging) while espousing pro-Islamic beliefs (non-violent as far as I know).
Putting him into historic perspective is a very complicated task that I’ll leave to others. As for me, I liked Cassius Clay - brash, confident, talented, funny. His fall from grace was of his own doing but others don’t see it that way.
That is what is great about America. We have many differing opinions on a subject yet basically nobody kills anyone they disagree with. Some maintain a mature posture when discussing things, while others kowtow and slobber.
Pick your poison.
Tyson would have killed him.
Think about it for a second. Who is home in the middle of the day?
You may have noticed the business channels gave it minimal coverage. There were more important things going on in the world.
Cassius Marcellus Clay (1810-1903) was a Kentucky politician abolitionist who was a second cousin of Henry Clay.
Was this guy some type of hero?
No. Actually, he was an arrogant, egocentric, anti-Christian, anti-American athlete and celebrity.
Therefore, in the eyes of both Left and Right (the Uni-Propaganda-Party), he is to be worshiped.
(Donald Trump, on the other hand, who is also arrogant and egocentric, but is pro-Christian and pro-American, and who is, unlike the puncher of faces, a significant job creator, must be destroyed, according to these same worshipers of Cassius Clay.)
I refused to watch it. glad it was rather interrupted with other news.
Jeremy is the father.
