New Jersey farmland law lets presidential candidate save tens of thousands property taxes on golf courses
The Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., has goats that are continually moved around the property for the removal of invasive, non-native vegetation.
The Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., has been the home for goats, under the care and supervision of the course-and-grounds department, that are continually moved around the property for the removal of invasive, non-native vegetation.
Donald Trump has found a solution that cuts both his grass and his tax bill: Goats.
The Republican presidential front-runners small goat herd, combined with hay farming and wood cutting, let him qualify for a New Jersey farmland tax break that saves him tens of thousands of dollars a year in property taxes on two golf courses, according to public records.
Mr. Trumps golf clubs in Bedminster and Colts Neck receive the break and pay reduced property taxes on the part of the land devoted to agriculture. The Bedminster course includes 113 acres hay production and 8 goats, while the Colts Neck course has 40 acres of hay plus stands of trees, according to tax-break applications
It isnt clear precisely how much Mr. Trump saves in taxes ......... suggests he pays less than $1,000 in taxes a year on land that would otherwise carry annual taxes of about $80,000, according to property values listed on the states website.
Mr. Trump continues a long tradition of famous and wealthy property owners who have benefited from the farmland assessment program, which was written into New Jerseys constitution in 1963 to prevent overdevelopment in the state with the highest population density in the U.S. Others have included former Gov. Christine Todd Whitman, magazine publisher Steve Forbes and rock star Bruce Springsteen, according to published reports

In the South we use goats to beat back kudzu. They love it.
Thousands and thousands of farmers and gentlemen farmers have lands listed as agricultural. That’s the way it is. But you do have to farm it and Trump does. What’s the problem?
One guy has become a millionaire in Virginia, by grazing cows on rich people’s “estates”, so they can get the ag discounts on taxes. Now, he specializes in growing grass...
Frankly, I prefer goats to most humans.
as a long time meat goat farmer we never pasture horned goats with dehorned goats. going tend is Nubian type goats which the goats in the foreground seem to be. you can also see the portable electric fence. great thing a electric fence is for keeping animals in and unwanted animals out. we use a 16 joule charger knocks me to the ground if I touch it and do not feel right for a few days..hehehe
ISIS has got the Wall Street Urinal interested in goats now, huh?
I want a goat.
Probably makes him real popular with the young muslim men in New Jersey too.
Do you kill and butcher your goats? Or is it farmed out. I like lamb and goat is close enough. They love roasted goat so much in Kenya that they get gout from it. They roast pieces over wood or charcoal and baste it w salt water as it cooks

Springsteen does it, too.
So. Why not? If NJ allows it, that’s on them. Why blame a person for taking advantage of the laws, idiots put in place.
Even better.
If you have two cows on your property in my state you are zoned as a farm.
Horses are considered luxuries and so the same exemption does not apply.
Can’t get just one! Get two or three pygmys, so they can keep each other company.
wow thank you for the info on how to cook goat always looking for new ways to cook. we eat all kinds of strange game that most folks wouldn’t touch
we run all male goats ( keep females to breed ) to a auction. shipper will then take them to Chicago to resale

This is very informative. They key is that the goat meat is roasted only with salt via basting with salt water.
When you eat the roasted goat it is eaten with chili sauces and other condiments. Also sides like salads, chapatis and potatoes. This makes up for the goat meat being roasted only with salt, without herbs, BBQ sauces and other flavor enhancers.

“shipper will then take them to Chicago to resale”
Caribbean people are big on eating goat. So are Muslims from India and Pakistan. I see goat for sale at ethnic stores near me that cater mostly to Caribbean people.
