So ... Okay.
I am not the biggest fan of Donald Trump. His character is a serious problem for me. And, I don't have to tell y'all what I think, believe, and know about Hillary Clinton, posting on a site like this.
However, I have been listening to Hugh Hewitt in the mornings lately, now that Bill Bennet has retired.
One question: What the hell is wrong with this guy?
Thoughts are always appreciated.....
He’s ugly and his mother dresses him funny.
I used liked Hugh and thought he was a real conservative, but he been a loyal Romey guy. Hugh is a country club republican; he will talk to the little people and make money doing so. But he is a Washington insider from long ago. Hes impressed with himself and his kind of people. (wink wink)
Try Chris Plante in the morning and Phil Valentine in the afternoon/evening. They are good entertainment and don’t take themselves too seriously.
Both are on numerous radio streams at various times.

He drank the Beltway Water, he’s an establishment stooge.... Take your pick or pick something else.
The last Republican candidate that gave a damn about, and fought for America, was Ronald Reagan. Till now. If the GOPe wants to play games at the convention, and deny our will, then they can go the way of the Whigs and may posterity forget that they were our countrymen.
Hewitt has always been long on intellect and not so good on stategery.

It will be interesting to see how some of these talkshow hosts did in the 2nd quarter.
Hmmm...Hugh Hewitt....I only know him as a name from James Lileks’ blog(s).
DONALD: True.
HUGH: Are you going back on your . . .
DONALD: No. First of all, very few people listen to your radio show. Thats the good news. (booing) Which happens to be true. Check out the ratings.

Not exactly how to win friends and influence people, DJT.
Some people want to roll the dice with Trump. Some people, like Hugh Hewitt, don't -- if they can avoid it.
Maybe he's wrong about that. He's comfortable. He's got a berth in the conservative Establishment that he doesn't want to lose.
But still, is he wrong about Trump being a big gamble?
I have eliminated Medved, Levin, Deace, Rush, Hewitt, Shapiro, Klavan, and several other talkers, some of them a few years ago, others a few months ago, as their TDS kicked in. I think it’s no accident that the talkers who refused to discuss Soetoro’s stolen SS#, and forged draft registration and “birth certificate,” are nevertrumpers. They are part of the Conspiracy of Silence, and other conspiracies.
I remember when the primaries first started and Hewitt saying over and over that Trump could not win because he could not go above 50%.
Hewitt is all in with MSNBC and CNN. It is definitely a money thing and I am going to assume his ratings are getting very very bad.
I don’t think Trump is a gamble at all.
He’s been in the public eye for forty-plus tears. He’s not a serious Christian, but ask his kids what kind of man he is.
Of course, if all a repellent, lying, duplicitous Bush puppet needs to do to win your devotion is bang the Bible, you can stick with Cruz.

Wouldn’t it be easier to answer if the question were: What is right about Hugh Hewitt? Absolutely nothing.
“What is wrong with Hugh Hewitt?”
Lol. An easier question is ‘what was ever RIGHT about Hugh Hewitt? And how did so many people get fooled by him?’
Hewitt unloaded his carpetbag in California in the early 1990s, when we locals were fighting hard to pass Prop 187, the illegal alien bill. Hewitt, like a number of other national GOP establishment stooges, took the side of illegal aliens against the grassroots conservatives of California.
Hewitt procured a job at the local PBS station, as their housebroken ‘conservative’, a perfect fit- he’s about as conservative as PBS could ever stand.
Over the years Hewitt has been a loyal GOP court follower. An insider. GOPe, neocon, Bush Republican, Sea Island Republican. On his little radio show he reliably pushes the GOPe line and tries to pass it off as ‘conservatism’. When he’s not polishing his own Harvard diploma for your admiration, he’s inviting guests whose establishment credentials are spotless. He gets along famously with his Lefty pals like Erwin Chemerinsky, who has all the right credentials. OTOH Hewitt has bitter contempt for wild conservatives of the Tim Donnolly variety.
The last Republican gubernatorial primary pitted Tea Party favorite Tim Donnolly against Neel Kashkari, self-admitted Obama voter, supporter of gay marriage, abortion, gun restriction, amnesty, mass immigration. Care to guess who Hewitt supported? Well Kashkari of course. Like his pal Michael Medved, Hewitt warned that nominating Tim Donnolly would destroy the Republican party- that Donnolly was so poisonous he would cause Republicans to lose races all across the country.
Rush makes non-stop guttural sounds, never mind what he’s saying. He’s been boring since 2000.
This (from 2006)?
