A 9-year-old started his own business in order to make a very special purchase. Tristin Jacobson opened up a lemonade stand to raise money to pay for his very own adoption, according to the Springfield News Leader.
Four years ago, Jacobson's biological mother dumped him on the doorstep of a Missouri shelter on a cold January day.
Donnie Davis got a call about Tristin, and she's been taking care of him ever since.
Jacobson has always wanted Davis to adopt him, but she couldn't afford the legal fees. So this past week he opened up a lemonade stand to raise money.
Tristins story went viral, and Springfield News Leader reports that as of this weekend, Jacobson has enough money to pay for his adoption.
Their goal was $5,000 and they raised a total of $14,000.
Tristans lemonade stand and a yard sale raised about $7,100, and a fundraiser they started on YouCaring.com called Tristans Adoption Fund raised more than $6,900.
Davis says the extra money will go toward Jacobson's college education.
Awesome.
This kid will go far.
Good for you son.
Hope he goes to a good home. He shows a lot of promise.
My allergies are acting up, my eyes are definitely watering.
Wait a minute kid. You have an uncle and his name is Sam and your uncle says you owe him some money.
Get that boy’s Social security number!
Is he reporting income after the fact or did he pay estimated Q2 2016?
Get the health department out there!
Business license? Garage sales and lemonade stands need approval from the STATE.
Pulling himself up by his own bootstraps? Capitalist Pig!
Putting illegal aliens out of work? RACIST!
Somebody call 911!!!
Hasn’t the little rug-rat ever heard of GoFundMe?
That was awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Brought tears to my eyes.
May God bless this child and the one who adopts him, in Jesus name, amen.
Darn, its that time of year, my allergies are getting to me too.

You could break down and actually read the post (no article clicking required) to see:
“...and a fundraiser they started on YouCaring.com called Tristans Adoption Fund ...”
Good ending (Unless the IRS sees this and taxes the crap out of him for his small business, then the health department steps in and fines him for no permit, and the state then wants its’ take.....).
Yep, GoFundMe - panhandling without actually having to do the work.
The $14k ought to more than cover the costs of the fines for failing to have a business license and operating a commercial enterprise in a residential area. Don't think it will cover the child labor laws or the OSHA violations.
The liberals will argue that child labor laws prohibit him from earning money, ergo all of the money he earned belongs to the IRS.
They also don’t like how people are buying lemonade from actual hard workers like this boy, instead of lazy Millenials demanding $25 an hour for teabagging customers’ food.
Ooooh, just wait until some lawyer for the city finds out and throws the foster mom in jail and puts the kid in a facility for the horrendous crime of selling lemonaide.
God bless this wonderful child and may all his dreams come true.
