According the the US Government's National Data Buoy Center (NDBC), some type of "event" in the ocean off the New Jersey coast triggered a Tsunami Buoy!
The buoy recorded sudden changes in water depth of fifty-five METERS (180 feet) in a matter of seconds.

So now New Jersey’s going to get hit with a 180 foot tsunami?
Crap. Somebody predicted that Yellowstone was going to blow on Friday, we got all these Going Away cards with Montana, Wyoming and Idaho addresses printed up and now the damn venue gets moved to New bloody Jersey plus they’re going to get washed away instead of blown up by a volcano?
I sure wish these people would keep their End of the World predictions and reports to a little tighter tolerances.
A guy could go broke trying to stay ahead of this stuff.
...okay.../sarc
You are showing your age...but it really isxa great movie. Such good times when the family went to see it in the theater. I miss those days.
Small meteor? Code for Russian sub?
Cocaine sub caught the anchor line?
A methane bubble would do the trick. That area is chock full of methane hydrate deposits. An undersea earthquake can break them up and cause a big bubble to raise to the surface. All of a sudden your boat is airborne.
Thanks. I’ve had this weird end of times feeling all day.
i survivied a tsunami. I got got back from Cape May. Funny thing in the article. The bouy doesn’t measure the height of water. It actually only records the distance from the bottom where it is anchored or tethered to the bouy. a whale snagged it for crying out loud.
Oh, we’re gonna die alright, just not right n
Your shore property is most likely fine! every where i went looked fine. yesterday arrived at cape may — left 8:30 EDST.. the restaurant where we ate luch yesterday advertises that it is 14 feet above sea level.
I hope Noah got that ark ready! >>>It’s opening in cincinatti in july.
Cape May ...... you watch Blacklist ?....:o)
That was just the magnetosphere collapsing for a little while. Nothing to worry about, shake it off.
SO many of these people and groups do this.
BPearthwatch is classic for it, as Dutchinse.
If you follow Suspicious0bservers (.org, Ben Davidson) you’ll get the truth to all of this without being told the sky is falling.
These buoys do this all the time. For whatever reason - be it software, be it the commlink between them is given a 0 where it shouldn’t have one.. it’s all radio linked and the buoys operate in a system. If a wave pattern is specific it may cause one to read this “sudden drop” or “sudden uprisal”
The buoys work for the water just below them. So what you’re assuming is that this ... sinkhole came and went in a matter of seconds. An error is far more likely and should be regarded as cause until a pattern develops.
I know, happens all the time around here. It always buffs out.

i don’t know what that is. it was raining here in philly and the GF needed some r&r great weekend. the jazz festival was there but we didn’t notice.
