BOSTON Former Red Sox pitcher and ESPN baseball analyst Curt Schilling has been fired from his position as an analyst for ESPN following comments he made on social media earlier this week regarding the bills going through several states to require people to use the bathroom of their assigned gender. The bill impacts the transgender community, because many of those individuals prefer to use the bathroom of the gender with which they identify.

He wasn’t fired for commenting on the bill, he could have made a comment in support of the bill and that would have been great. He was fired because his opinion did not agree.
Freedom of Speech does not come with Freedom of Consequence. Employment at will. See ya Curty, and take your farkin’ sock with you.
ESPN needs to be smashed and burned for being Nazis. When you can’t express an opinion without retaliation from people who are supposed to mind their own d@mn business and just report on sports, then there needs to be some serious and potentially violent fallout.
A good lesson for everyone else. By the way now that he is fired who will hire him. Hope he has money saved up.
You must be a Yankees fan.
Related to this, Paypal has said they will stop business in NC because of the new law. I use Paypal and I have a lot of customers in NC (I’m also from there). I just emailed them telling them that if they cut me off from my NC customers, I will cut them off from me. Anyone else who has a Paypal account, I urge you to contact them with a similar message.
Also, as a means of protest, maybe bunches of men should gather in crowds and say out loud “I feel like I’m a woman today” and all go into the ladies room. That might get some attention.
Be that as it may :)
Fine. How about a few billion dollars in fines for Federal Election Campaign violations in the manner of in-kind contributions for political causes?
One of the reasons media is regulated in this nation is to preclude unfair support of political parties, and if the supposed sports media is going to deliberately pick a side in the political wars, then they need to get their @$$es very badly burned for attempting to influence elections.
Perhaps their licenses to broadcast need to be pulled?
Conservatives should have gone to financial war with these people a long time ago. We should have gone to the government hammer to beat the sh*t out of them when they stepped over the line a long time ago as well.
In my youth, I “preferred” to kiss Farrah Fawcett, but settled for a girl named Lisa instead.
Use the Men’s Room if you have a Penis. Use the Women’s Room if you a Viagina. Seem’s simple to me. ESPN Management are stupid.
Hollywood’s Pinklist continues.
The “new mccarthyism” is homofascism.
Found this after a "Curt Schilling net worth" search:
Former Phillies and Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, who made more than $115 million in a 20-year career, reportedly has a net worth of only $1 million and is being sued by the state of Rhode Island over a $75 million loan to his bankrupt 38 Studios video game company
I don’t think anyone is reacting as “media” or “trying to influence elections” in the case of what Schilling said. ESPN is private business. They can hire and fire whomever they like as long as they are not discriminating under the law.
If I started a website saying my company sucked because they hire gays, I’m pretty sure I’d be fired.
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Seems we’re all for that around here except when it comes to bite us.
ESPN’s mangagement is Disney and therefore gay. Situation explained.
Actually, it’s owned by ABC which is owned by DIS. But the stock is an asskicker, so I’m ok with it.
Try telling that to the leftists who decry how horrible it was that private industry at onetime blacklisted known Communists. Nothing discriminatory about that (sex, creed, color are not a factor).
A good lesson for everyone else, indeed.
And that is EXACTLY what the Left wants. And everyone who plays meekly along with it, including those who think he got what he deserved because they have some kind of axe to grind because of his career as an athlete, are willfully dancing to the fiddle played by the left.
There is no middle ground.
It is fine to observe that speaking his mind was a risk to his job, because that is a simple statement of undeniable fact.
But if you say he got what he deserved, then you are weak-minded, a sheep, or a liberal.
There is no other option.
He is grass and the Sodomites are the lawnmower.
Whether he deserved it or not is one question. But he certainly should have expected it. How many times has he been suspended or fined for what he’s said? He was foolish if he thought he’d get away with what he posted on FB and Twitter.
