A Charlotte waitress says she was infuriated and hurt when a group of ladies left a message for her on their bill taking aim at her sexual orientation.
Alexandra Judd works at Zada Janes in Charlottes Plaza Midwood. She says a group of patrons she served for lunch Tuesday morning left her a hateful message in lieu of a tip.
A Bible verse was left on the tip pointing Judd to Leviticus 20:13.
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination, the King James version of the Old Testament verse reads. They shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Judd is gay.
The bottom of the receipt had a message for her as well: Praying for you!
I never expected a hateful gesture like this, Judd said of the comments. Ive had a guest leave me a pamphlet to their church as a tip one time, but I didnt feel as if they were being hateful towards me. The ladies that came in were very rude, and would hardly talk to me but I never expected this.
She says she was infuriated and hurt by what she saw.
Ive heard of people leaving fake money, or writing funny stuff in the tip spot of a check but never believed it would happen to me, in the way that it did, she said. Judd posted a picture of the receipt on her Facebook page. Her co-workers and friends have shared the post and shared their shock and anger in the comments.
According to Judd, shes lived in North Carolina nearly a year after moving from a small town in Alabama.
She has taken part in a few rallies for equality since she has moved to Charlotte, including Wednesday nights rally in uptown Charlotte against North Carolinas House Bill 2.
I dont care what anyone says, this is the most disrespectful thing you can do, she wrote about the incident on Facebook. Dont pray for me darling, I have everything I could possibly want and need in my life.
Whether legit or a hoax, no crime was committed and the patrons were well within their rights to opt to leave a prayer instead of a monetary tip.
Funny how the customer is always right when it’s a gay couple wanting a “wedding” cake but the customer is deemed hateful when it’s a straight person (or group of people) offering a prayer.
I think so too. Definitely looks like different writing. I personally do not put the tip on my debit card most times but only pay the bill and then leave cash as the tip. Many people I know write praying for you or God bless you on the receipt and a lot of them will leave a bible track from our church. All innocent and meant in a true caring way.
Just checked what appears to be her Facebook. She apparently also works for “Charlotte, North Carolina For Hillary Clinton.”
Yeah.
It worked before.

1. The Anti-Gay Receipt. In 2013, a 22-year-old lesbian waitress named Dayna Morales posted a receipt which did not carry a tip, but did carry a message: Im sorry but I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle. The waitress received thousands of dollars in donations. One problem: she faked the receipt.

Note the part where she got thousands of dollars.
total hoax
the person who wrote the total and the message at the bottom was a completely different person than who wrote lev 20:13.
I don’t see the problem. Should’ve left him/her a cash tip along with the verse, though.
Has she started a gofundme yet?
it’s been photoshopped.
1. How did they know she was gay?
............................................
By her photo she looks militant.
If true, doing this would only further alienate homosexuals and not seem to be a prudent attempt to witness to someone.. At the very least, she should have at least left an actual tip and a less harsh message.
How do we know a cash tip wasn’t left? Just the say-so of the waitress.
No. You don't. But there's still time.
This is national news?
The three is different too. i can't remember hearing about something like this when it wasn't later proven to be a hoax.
They were able to identify her as a lesbian because she was wearing her “I’m a LESBIAN and an ATHEIST, and PROUD” t-shirt.
Otherwise, how would anyone know?
“She says she was infuriated and hurt by what she saw.”
Poor baby better get to your safe place.
Actually the customer did her great favor, prayers for her to give up being a homo is better than a couple of bucks.
Great at being gay--lousy at her job!
Her entire Facebook page is LGBT and trans and Hillary stuff and also, interestingly enough, includes the familiar photo of Captain Picard pleading with the message: HOW THE HELL CAN YOU WALK STRAIGHT OUT OF CHURCH AND BE AN A*****E TO YOUR SERVER?”
Hmm ...
Waitperdaughter.
