RUSH: I must begin the program today with an announcement of sorts. I know that a major story in the media today is — I don’t know what we call it — Lewandowskigate, Grabgate. Whatever it is, the ongoing and still blossoming controversy involving the videotape of the reporterette, Michelle Fields, the Trump campaign coordinator, Corey Lewandowski, and the Trumpster himself and what the heck happened.
My friends, I have decided that, going forward, I cannot share with you my opinion on this story. And so going forward, I will not opine. I will simply tell you what the latest is, but I will not tell you what I think about it. I am taking the equivalent of the EIB Network’s Fifth Amendment here, because no matter what I say, I am convinced people cannot listen anymore. And no matter what I say, it is going to be misconstrued into one of two things. Either I’m defending Lewandowski or I am trying to destroy Trump in order to help Ted Cruz. And I have done neither, said neither.
Yesterday all I did on this program was to review for people who may not have been able to see the video because it was happening while the program was on the air, just telling people what had happened. And I commented on how much time CNN was spending on this. And I talked about how they were stacking guests. And all of that became “Limbaugh defends Lewandowski.” “Limbaugh sells out conservatism.” “Limbaugh traitorous to the cause.” “Limbaugh supports reprobate A-hole.” “Limbaugh” whatever.
And since I didn’t do any of that — (interruption) What? I didn’t do any of that. I don’t even know Lewandowski. What I know is, everybody apparently hates the guy. What I know is, everybody wants to try to destroy the Trump campaign that is not part of the Trump campaign. I know that includes many people in the media. They will take the occasion of any event that pops up to try to destroy and bring down the Trump campaign, which is politics, and it’s fine. But I have determined here that because tensions are so tight, everybody is wound up to such a feverish pitch here, that no matter what I say it is misunderstood and is not helpful.
So on this story going forward, I have no opinion. We have the latest in sound bites. We have the latest in the news on it. I’m even reluctant to just tell you what the latest is because of how that’s gonna be misinterpreted. And this may not be the only subject about which I have to muzzle my own self here and silence myself, at least from the standpoint of opinions, because it’s apparently impossible to be correctly, properly understood.
She’s not a reporter, she’s an operative.
It’s possible Rush is either, deep-down, afraid of women, or his new wife is influencing him.
It’s one thing to be “selfish”, but it’s another to try to ruin the careers and lives of men she doesn’t like. She’s not a good woman.
She’s a white Tawana Brawly wannabe without the dog feces.
In fact fat Rush talked endlessly for several days about it as if were a big news story.
Really? I checked the archives. Rush talked about it, for less than 5 minutes the day after it happened. And then, never mentioned it again in the following week.
In fact, he NEVER mentioned Fields name again for the next 19 days... when the charges were actually filed. And then, Rush merely discussed the facts that were known and the way the media were going nuts about it.
Rush said this: “So just in terms of video capture there’s nothing apparent that you can see”.
You can’t do that....Rush is now the enemy....black is now white...Cruz is a member of the establishment....trump is now mr conservative....planned parenthood does good work...affirmative action is good law....national review is ow a rag...up is down
That’s Megan Kelly??? I thought it was David Bowie in his Thin White Duke persona.
I actually heard him say all that tripe, but he calls us “Trumpsters”, he refers to us as followers, but Cruz has supporters. He spoke about the story for days on end. Concerning CO he basically brushed it off.
If you get on the threads for Rush the ladt few months you will find a growing duscut with his pro Rubio and pro Cruz positions.
One way he opposes Trump is he allows callers to trash Trump and just says, “so there you have it”. But when someone points out something negitive about Cruz he defends him, cuts them off or just hangs up.
You can project your own biased opinions on Rush all you want, but... the above is simply factually incorrect. Rush has barely discuss this story at all. In fact, it was NOT MENTIONED AT ALL in the 19 days following the incident. Not until charges were filed.

Yes I agree. Rush gave this minor coverage. I would have left rush had he jumped on the bandwagon. I suppose I could have missed a line or two , but I do listen every day. Rush has been tolerable. He’s obviously a Cruz guy. But I can still listen. Mark levin ? Shapiro , etc. I stopped listening 3-5 months ago.

I think he meant she over reacted to what did happen, likely for dramatic effect. If you have ever watched a video of a fake slip and fall incident they always over react- from the beginning in case someone is watching.
I really liked DML when he did the border documentaries and followed him for a while. He spent the time and trouble to try to inform people of the realities of the border and did a pretty decent job for someone that doesn’t live here to know all the details. At times he does come up with some odd statements that make no sense. I don’t think he is a diligent in being informed before speaking as he should be.
She should have to pay a price for being so selfish, with absolutely no concern that her false accusations could have horrible effects on other people’s lives. She seems like the kind of person who just wants to get her own way, the consequences to others of little or no concern. Horrible.
That is the definition of evil.

Her name is Michelle Fields, and she is a Breitbart reporterette, and she was covering the Trump press conference on Tuesday night after the primaries that was held up in Jupiter here at the Trump golf course in the members clubhouse. And when it was over and Trump was making his way offstage, she was trying to get close enough to Trump to ask him a question.
And the next thing she knew, she was grabbed very tightly on her arm, so much so that she was bruised. She was nearly thrown to the floor and told to essentially to be quiet, no questions, get out of the way, Trump is leaving, what have you. And she claims that it was Trump’s campaign manager who did it, a guy named Corey Lewandowski. There are witnesses. There’s audio. There’s video. She’s got the bruises on her arms. Trump was asked about it after the debate last night. He thinks it’s all made up. He didn’t see it. He was long gone, or at least his back was to the event when it happened.
It happened after he had walked by, and it may well be that the people involved have not told him what really happened, that they’re saying, “Nah, she’s making it up! She’s exaggerating. It didn’t happen, or it did happen but it wasn’t Corey Lewandowski that did it,” or what have you. But, I mean, there’s all kinds of witnesses and evidence here. People were running audiotape of it. There’s some video, I think. She’s got the bruises on her arms.
Politico has run, I think, the audio and transcript of it. So it happened. And Trump last night said that he thinks it’s being made up because that’s obviously what his people are telling him. Now Michelle Fields of Breitbart has filed a formal criminal complaint against Lewandowski alleging that he forcefully grabbed her and nearly threw her to the floor. So that’s not gonna go away.”

When the charges were filed is when he talked about it constantly.

26 years here. I started listening to Rush in 1990. Quit in 2016.
