Donald Trump runs The Trump Organization, his real estate company that dabbled in failed meat, water, and education industries, among others. His campaign for president, on the other hand, has been anything but organized.
The way hes run his campaign has the appearance of a wealthy man who decided hed run for president on a lark, then woke up to find himself in the lead with no clue how to handle it or finish the job. In many ways the Trump campaign is The Mouse That Roared.
For those of you who dont know, The Mouse That Roared is a great British comedy from 1959 staring Peter Sellers about a small nation, Grand Fenwick, is going broke and needs to find a way to rebuild their economy. The powers that be realize the United States has always been generous toward the nations they defeat in war, helping rebuild their countries after victory. So Grand Fenwick declares war on the US with the assumption it will be quickly over, with surrender planned from the start. However, without giving anything away, through a quirk of comedic fate, they end up gaining the upper hand and rush to find a way to lose.
In many ways, this was the Trump campaign seemingly trying everything to lose after seeking only Donalds oxygen: attention.
Little did he realize this is 2016, and in the United States celebrity, no matter how its achieved, is considered an accomplishment now. Skateboard naked down a hilly street covered in nails with a GoPro strapped to your head and friends filming it on their iPhones and youll have a guest spot on The View and offers for your own reality show by the time you get out of the hospital.
After insulting everyone, demonstrating ignorance of important issues, and literally phoning in his campaign, Trump realized he actually stood a chance to win. At that point he did…nothing.
As he racked up plurality victories in early states, never having won a majority (New York is his best chance), and didnt plan ahead. Trump was in over his head so deep he didnt bother to see if his own children were registered as Republicans so they could vote for him. They werent, so they cant.
In the absence of knowledge or principle, Donald continued to strike out like a 12-year-old disciplined by a neighbor. Once he insulted Ted Cruzs wifes looks, he crossed the line, losing support for the first time.
Then the real stupidity started.
When Cruz trounced Trump in Wisconsin, Trump supporters started the Ted Cruz is a tool of the establishment meme. Trumps mouthpieces on TV and radio cried foul, switching to full-throated dismissals of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker as an agent of the establishment.
As if the tears shed over that loss werent enough, in the run-up to the New York primary, Ted Cruz won all 34 delegates in Colorado. He did it by the most nefarious means known to man he read the rules, understood them and acted accordingly. In other words, he won fair and square.
Trump, with egg on his face, realized too late not hiring campaign staff in Colorado was a mistake. But Donald Trump doesnt admit mistakes, so another reason had to be blamed.
Enter rigged.
Trump and his flying monkey attack army claimed Colorado was rigged, people were denied their right to vote! But they werent.
Never having been bound by the truth, Trump claimed his spanking was totally unfair! It was fair, and it was by the rules. Trump didnt bother to learn the rules, out of ignorance or arrogance, finding himself out in the cold.
The Trump Army, led by Matt Drudge, unleashed lies, deliberate and knowing lies, on the American people over what happened in Colorado. Goon Roger Stone wrote a column declaring Mark Levin and Erick Erickson, among others, to be on the payroll of the establishment, citing something called Conservative Tree House as his authority. If that website isnt bankrolled by The Trump Organization, either directly or indirectly, they are in need of serious mental help.
Since The Trump Organization is a privately held company, not only may we never know Trumps real net worth (estimated well below his claims), but well also never know who hes paying. Rest assured, money is flowing. (Theres a reason Donald Trump wont release his tax forms and its not an audit since hes not really being audited.)
Its flowing everywhere but into campaign infrastructure and policy briefings for Donald by people who understand policy. He doesnt need them hes gotten to this point without them, why bother now?
Donald Trump believes he can win the White House by spouting platitudes, speaking in bumper stickers, a sycophantic core of in the tank media, paid hacks with no moral compasses, and an ignorant populace more interested in celebrity than sound policy. He may be right, but its doubtful.
As Trump cries over a rule change that didnt happen, he calls for a rule change that will help him. He now wants the GOP to award him the nomination in Cleveland if he simply has the most delegates, not a majority. To hell with that.
The finish line is 1,237 delegates. If Trump cant get there, game on.
He couldve won this, he couldve walked into Cleveland the conquering leader of Grand Fenwick. But that wouldve required work, admitting his only advisor from the start (himself) isnt adequate, and spending actual money he doesnt have (hes loaned his campaign some money and doesnt have nearly enough cash to fund a general election). Donald Trump cant admit he makes mistakes.
I hope he walks into Cleveland only to sulk out, denied the payoff in his long-con. Rather than a triumphant hero, Donald Trump is just a mouse that whined.
Trump, the first 3rd party candidate with a chance to win.
Think about it, and if you disagree, think again.
“That mule had some kick recently in UT, WI, and CO!”
Are you serious? Two of those states you can’t even vote and the third is a Mormon whackadoodle caucus.
The next two weeks are going to be pretty bad for Cruz
RIP Election 2016
Sacrificed on the Altar of ideological purity and elitism
Ted thought he was an expert on everything, says this campaign veteran, who asked not to be named. He was a smart and talented guy, but completely taken with himself and his own ideas. He would offer up opinions on everything, even matters outside his portfolio. He was a policy guy, but he would push his ideas on campaign strategy. He would send memos on everything to everyone. He would come to meetings where he wasnt invitedand wasnt wanted.
In fact, this Bush alum recalls, the quickest way for a meeting to end would be for Ted to come in. People would want out of that meeting. People wouldnt go to a meeting if they knew he would be there. It was his inability to be part of the team. Thats exactly what he was: a big a$$hole.

Explains, that Creepy feeling we all get listening to him speak. Clearly Cruz is for Cruz. Also explains why he would rather have Hillary win than any other R.
We can be comforted knowing we are in the last days of Ted Cruz as a national political figure, and their want be any resurrection.
BTTT
OMG! A politician expressed an opinion! Have you sent this to the NY Times?
Remember, he who laughs last laughs best.
Remember, he who laughs last laughs best.
Remember, Trump has the voters. Nobody else does. No Trump voters, no GOP. Trump gets the last laugh.
“The ludicrous charge of failing with Trump Water and Trump Mints!”
Silly, isn’t it?
Donald Trump is the consummate businessman, and since Cruz supporters had the supratentorial part of their brain turned off in this election cycle, they lack the capacity to understand the business decision behind Trump Water.
Allow me to explain (as if Cruzers actually cared to understand anything “Trump”):
Trump owns hundreds of hotels, spas, restaurants, golf courses and other properties world-wide where bottled water is consumed by the millions of bottles yearly.
Trump made a smart cost-cutting, and revenue-generating, business move to supply the bottled water to these outlets himself, rather than rely on spotty regional suppliers or expensive national distributors.
Hence — Trump Water.
The depth of hatred for Donald Trump among Ted Cruz supporters is absolutely astounding.
The only person less popular than Hillary in politics today is trump.
Biggest state Cruz has won is Wisconsin. 20th largest state with only 5 million people. That is the next POTUS? Really? Laughable idea.
The fact that Donald is whining so much about the rigged RNC rules lately signals that he knows hes losing...
We’ll see whose losing after Ted gets wiped out in the next 6 or 7 primaries (where everyone actually gets to vote)
///Hes going scorched earth because hell likely fall short on the 1st ballot in Cleveland, then suffer the fate of a Loser!//
You guys are projecting here. Ted went scorched earth on March 15 when he gave his “victory speech” after losing 6 out of 6 large states. He should have suspended then like McCain did with Bush, Romney did with McCain and Santorum did with Romney.
If he had Trump would be hitting Hillary hard now. Instead he has to fend off 2 spoilers till June.
Ted is a loser. He couldn’t get over 50% in Wisconsin against a non factor like Kasich and with everything but the kitchen sink thrown against Trump.
Cruz will be humiliated in NY next Tue. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
Nerve of Cruz for following the law.
The law does apply to those more equal like Hillary or Trunp!
None of them have done ANYTHING to stop Obama's illegal immigrant invasion, spending, and unConstitutional acts. Where was Ryan, Kasich, and Cruz? Empty suits collecting paychecks.
And I think as more folks get to know him, his unfavorables will drop.
Yes, I’m very serious...
Real voters actually voted in all 3 states, including CO...saying it ain’t so will not make it so!
Why disparage the Mormon religion? Only liberals do that!
The next two weeks will be an improvement for Trump over his pretty bad last 3 weeks!
For Cruz, I’m sure his ground game and organizational strength will allow him to pick up some delegates in the very liberal Northeast, where Trump is expected to do well!
Cruz is playing the long game and will be prepared for Cleveland.
So, don’t you worry about him!
but but slavery was also a rule and you could beat your slaves without penalty. thatwas also a rule. People that claim rules are rules do not understand. honesty and integrity are the rules. ColGope wants non binding delegates just like in PA so when they get to the convention in cleveland they can tell the delegates who to vote for. That is all there is in CO and in PA and other non binding states. it is what it is and to me it just simply corrupt but we all know that.
You guys are projecting here. Ted went scorched earth on March 15 when he gave his victory speech after losing 6 out of 6 large states. He should have suspended then like McCain did with Bush, Romney did with McCain and Santorum did with Romney.
Cruz’s hubris really is amazing. Outside of his home state Cruz has only won Wisconsin in the Top 20 states. Wisconsin & Texas. That’s it. Trump will have won 12 of them in two weeks time.

_________________________________________________________________________
FYI, Ted WON the state of WI and beat Donald like a drum, by 13% over Trump and 24% over Kasich...the last WI delegate count I saw had Ted with 36, Trump with 6, Kasich with Zero!
FYI, Cruz is not competing statewide in NY, only in a handful of NY congressional district...he spent most of his time this week in CA and PA...
Not to worry, he’ll probably pick up some delegates along the way in Trump’s liberal Northeast hood!
FYI...Ted is a nice guy!
Cruz won Texas too, hardly a small state or did you forget that?
It’s funny how many positive things about Cruz are forgotten around here, in favor of the (mostly) negative false narratives about him.
