Access to Free Republic through Yahoo, Verizon, Comcast and ATT was blocked today for some number of hours. Any additional information will be appreciated
Check out the post a few items down the page. Jim Robinson explains what went wrong today.
It is a DNS problem. Somehow, bad DNS information is being propagated through the nameservers.
You can dodge the issue by putting a DNS entry for FR in your hosts file.
Buckeye in Ohio as well, tried 3 browsers, nothing, then my phone which is ATT no problem.
Its back now. This site is hated by them. HATED . We speak blasphemy.

I had an issue with Cox Cable not working. Turned off WIFI and went to Cellular connection and it worked on US Cellular.
My access was blocked earlier when trying to connect through VyprVPN, but was OK with direct access through my ISP. No DNS entry.
It seems to be fixed now. Is this a DOS attack?
Just started working for me for the first time since yesterday afternoon! I have no idea why it all of a sudden now works.
Man, I’ve been in big time withdrawal. I count on being able to visit FR every day, if not to comment, at least to read the posted articles.

Started yesterday with a administrative DNS screw-up....
Jim fixed it today....
Clear your DNS Cache by using ipconfig/dnsflush on your computer if you are experiencing problems...
As the government call it this is a test.
Right before the Wisconsin primary. GOP treasonists will go to any lengths to shut down Trump supporters
Via google, I saw Jim had posted something on Facebook but I don't have an account there and didn't want to register after quitting there a long time ago.
There was a long live thread, and somebody posted that as soon as the polls closed in WI, they could get back on.
So I tried my regular bookmark that failed umpteen times and am back on plus I didn't have to log in again.
.
It was more than a DNS issue.
Most of my FR links are stored with the numeric id, and they still would not work for the past two days.
I use Time Warner Road Runner, and was blocked starting last night, and most of today, whether I used ethernet or wireless connections. Just saw Jim’s post on Facebook, that the site was back, and voila!! here I am.
