Trump Dodges Question Over Whether Any Past Partners Had Abortions Asked by Maureen Dowd whether he was ever involved with anyone who underwent procedure, Trump replies simply: Such an interesting question
Trumps reply to Maureen Dowd: Whats your next question? Martin Pengelly
2 April 2016 The controversy over Donald Trumps stance on abortion took another turn on Saturday, when a New York Times interviewer wrote that the Republican presidential frontrunner appeared to avoid a question about whether any woman he had been involved with had undergone such a procedure.
Analysis How to stop Donald Trump: women may hold the solution A recent poll found 70% of women had a negative view of the Republican, and the ranks of single women who tend to vote Democratic are growing
Maureen Dowd referred to Trumps suggestion this week that women who have abortions should be punished a comment he swiftly retracted when she wrote: Given his draconian comment, sending women back to back alleys, I had to ask: When he was a swinging bachelor in Manhattan, was he ever involved with anyone who had an abortion?
Such an interesting question, he said. So whats your next question?
Trump made his initial remark on Wednesday, in an interview with MSNBC host Chris Matthews. Controversy ensued, highlighting the candidates extremely poor ratings with female voters of all political stripes.

"That's a really interesting question. What's your next question?"
His handlers have been working with him. That's a tactful way to tell the interviewer "No, thanks. I won't be taking your gotcha question bait today."
More Republicans need to learn not to take the bait.
How’s this dark cloud look to you.
The question of "When he was a swinging bachelor in Manhattan, was he ever involved with anyone who had an abortion?" is worded so broadly that it a bit on the stupid side.
I would have been tempted to answer that my doorman had one after he discovered the child was carrying the Journalist gene.
I’d like to know how many times he’s smacked his mother.

He ought to have answered the question. If the answer was “yes” he could have picked up points for honesty, and since there is no stigma attached to a person for simply associating with someone who has had an abortion it would have cost him nothing. If the answer was “no” it might have meant one of two things: (1) he selects his friends on the basis of his moral scruples; or (2) he moves in circles where nobody would dream of having an abortion.
I’ll answer that question if and when I offer myself as a candidate for President and go on record to say that I oppose abortions
I don't know about Steelfish, but I have never been involved with a female who had an abortion. Just pretend that I posted the article instead of him, and you'll be okay.
Whether Any Past Partners Had AbortionsIT'S NONE OF YOUR FRIGG'N BUSINESS!!
Abortion-abortion-abortion I'm so sick of this shit. There's nothing a President can do about abortions.
Anyone with half a brain knows there is NOTHING a President can do about ABORTION-ABORTION-ABORTION...
What a bunch of NOSY low-life (abortions OK before 20 weeks) imbeciles some of you people are.
Trump is simply not ready for prime time.
.............................................
We’ve done so well with candidates who were ‘ready for primetime’.
Cruz won’t answer the question of whether he cheated on his wife. He’s not ready for prime time. See how that works? You are pathetic.
Dunce!!!!! It is none of your business. Trump was a gentleman for not answering.
How on earth would he know if people he had dated had had abortions? If any of the women he married had, would he know? And what gentleman would say, one way or another? And what business is it of the media?
Sure, a President absolutely can appoint judges that will overturn Roe vs. Wade and can also defund Planned Parenthood. A President could lobby for a Human Life Amendment, but that is obviously up to Congress and the states and is a very long shot.
Such a question deserves a punch in the mouth.
Pretty sad, actually, that our elections consist of this tripe. f the fing fers.
He ought to have suggested to that harridan that he could arrange a contest with Ronda Rousey for her. Before 1820 men might have shot each other for much less.
