If you have to explain your joke, you FAILED.When that happens to me, it's because the recipient is usually one who lacks knowledge of world, military, American, or contemporary history.
The rest of the time it's because I told a really lousy joke...lol. That's why I consider myself a (really) poor man's Dennis Miller. I'm more attuned to the stylings of Sam Kinison, but my wife would divorce me.

How convenient! Just today there is a report of an anonymous SS agent who witnessed lying POS Michelle Fields first touch Trump.
I’ll bet the SS witness was suspended so he won’t be able to testify.
Trump’s lawyers will have to seek a court order to compel the SS agent to testify and he may consider changing his story to keep his job.
