I know! I guess they picked him for that role because they thought he could be a convincing gun nut.

"Michael Gross was (and maybe still is) a huge gun-confiscation proponent."
Then I guess it's a bit ironic that his most memorable role was as a conservative gun nut who ends up being the hero who saved the day. Tremors is a great B flick. I've seen it a bunch of times but if I'm ever channel surfing and run across it I'll still stop and watch it again.

I’ve seen some very nice collections over the years, and have even bought & sold a couple small ones, but Heston’s is beyond superlatives.

Check out that fireplace with guns around it. A skillfull builder could put a gun room **behind** the fireplace and you’d never know it’s there.
There’s furniture, too, that looks like antique reproductions with hidden gun safes.
I’ve heard you can hire contractors who specialize in this sort of thing. But then, wouldn’t you have to shoot him? LOL
You can order your own plans. Google concealed or hidden gun plans, vaults, furniture, rooms, shelves, safes, etc.

I’m sure he did have more than a few guns, but according to Hoax-Slayer, the story about the huge gun vault in his basement is untrue.

I was going to complain that I didn’t have a single water-cooled machine gun in my collection but then I thought...

Then there's folks who specialize.
This gent has a collection of 185 Winchester Model 42's (.410 pump gun) with many deluxe models. His gunroom is made up to look like a 50's vintage Gun store.
Many more pictures at the links.
