Leonardo DiCaprio praised Chinas work to combat climate change on a trip to Beijing on Sunday, and said he believes the worlds largest emitter of greenhouse gases could be the hero of the environmental movement.
The actor and environmentalist, who called for action to combat climate change during his Oscar acceptance speech last month, praised Chinas shift toward renewable forms of energy to lower carbon emissions. [ ]
I really think that China can be the hero of the environmental movement, they can be the hero of the climate change movement, he said. They have an opportunity to change the world and I have all the confidence in the world that that is their intention.

Maybe DiCaprio and Obama can move to China to participate in their efforts to stop global warming,
Here’s more about that “environmentalist” Di Caprio

You forget his many multi room mansions, private planes, chauffeured giant SUV limos not to mention the energy of a small city it takes to make one of many movies that he’s usually incredibly miscast in.
If all that money only makes you a blind stupid fool, leave me out.
Leo hit on my cousin at a party once. She was a model for Jessica Mcclintock wedding dresses. I think he kind of creeped her out.
I'm still p*ssed that "it" may have been cast as Nicholai Hel in Satori.
The REAL Nicholai Hel would have "pencilled" DiCaprio in for the presumption.
Oh great. Who wants a Climate “Made in China”?
Silly. They tow it with the helicopters...
Smoking the good stuff on his super-yacht i see.
Hope the hot models aren’t partaking...
It’s all about the money folks.
Delusional
This is disturbing on several levels.
First that a vapid dolt like DiCaprio could ever possibly be capable of capturing the subtlety of Hel.
Second that this author would presume to prequel Trevanian’s masterpiece. I notice he waited until five years after Trevanian’s death to write it. The material in the novel’s synopsis is fully covered and explained in “Shibumi”. There is no need for another book.
Third, Trevanian specifically stated in the footnotes to “Shibumi” that he did not wish to have either the character or the story put into movie format. He even expressed regret that “The Eiger Sanction” movie had been made, mourning the death of a stunt man mountain climber during filming and using that same adjective “vapid” to describe the finished work.
Trevanian’s writing is exhaustive in detail and rich in nuance. The likelihood of Hollywood being able to do his characters justice is Zero.
It would be nice if China would at least clean up their own air.
Don't need no climate change crapolla. They just a stern self-recognition that they are horrible stewards of their own air and land.
So I guess his 'next' big project is to do a film in China? Maybe play a young Mao or something? Marco Polo?
He has as much on the noggin ball as Sean Penn, it seems.
Like the American Dad episode, it is probably pulled along by four chained and shackled whales.
I’m torn between wanting to see Hollywood go out of business, or keeping hilarious dolts like Leo employed there. It would be way more entertaining if somebody (Clint Eastwood ?), would take this clown down a few pegs.
Deeply confused young man.
He’s probably seen how lucrative this cause has been for Al Gore and decided he’ll cash in, too
I’m willing to bet if you spoke to Leonardo DiCaprio in private and off the record and asked him if he really believed in this he’d probably at least express some doubt
