This could give Cruz the edge he needs.
Anti-Islamist Fringe? Now I’m on the fringe? Spare me.
So being against Islamic terrorists is an extreme hardline position now?
There is a difference between keeping them out of our country and setting up to go to war.
Cruz, based on his foreign policy adviser selected today, is preparing for imminent war.
Not that I ever heard, but he sure had a lot of Freepers convinced he had evidence his birth certificate was fake.
Never did see that evidence. He dropped it like a bomb shell.
One cannot imagine Ted Cruz, working with the advice of Frank Gaffney, criticizing Pamela Geller as Trump did when her First Amendment rights were threatened by Muslims. One cannot trust Donald Trump on national security concerning the threat of militant Islam because we know that Trump lied about his opposition to the Iraq war, claiming credit for opposition when he in fact supported the invasion.
You know what you're going to get with Ted Cruz, what you will get with Donald Trump is his ego excrescence this week.
I’m sorry, is this article supposed to help or hurt Cruz?
Like Boehner calling Cruz the devil, it only makes Cruz look a little better lol
“Ted Cruz’s new team of foreign policy advisers includes several fringe conservative activists and fervid anti-Islamist hardliners”
first bit of good news I’ve heard about Ted in a while.
“Fringe” is of course one of those buzzwords the media can use to attack people it doesn’t like while still claiming “objectivity”.
Only a few years ago, people like Van Jones and Loretta Lynch would have been fairly identified as “fringe”. Now they’re running the country.
I just channel-surfed through the political news channels and MSNBC (I think) had a graphic posted, listing the large percentages of GOP supporters who agreed with Trump on halting non-citizen Muslim immigration (it was well over 60% in all of the states listed), and the “discussion” was that it was a clear indicator that the GOP has a huge bigotry problem. SMH. When 68% of an entire state’s majority party shares a belief, it isn’t “fringe”.
Wn endorsement from the politico!
Sounds like my kind of people.
Hey, I’ve always liked Frank Gaffney.
It’s a good article and mentions several noteworthy individuals on the Cruz team.
One excerpt:
Cruz himself has made the threat of radical Islam a centerpiece of his campaign, and often attacks President Barack Obama for declining to use the phrase “radical Islamic terrorism.”
Hillary and Sanders draw from pro-Islamist fringe
Cruz has been personally supporting the islamists.
He is going to have to backtrack and apologize for that before getting any credit for when he opposes them.

Politico's Crowley Perpetuates Myth That Boehner 'Went Behind Obama's Back' With Bibi Speech
By Tom Blumer | March 18, 2015 | 11:22 PM EDT
Many media myths won't die because those who should know better and I believe in many cases do know better, and don't care perpetuate them.
One can't divine his mindset, but Politico's Michael Crowley, in his coverage of Benjamin Netanyahu's resounding Tuesday electoral victory, did his part to continue the myth that the Israeli Prime Minister's "March 3 speech to Congress (was) arranged by Speaker John Boehner behind the Obama White Houses back." It wasn't, and claiming that it was a million times won't change that.
Those are all good people.
