I’m a woman and can tell you few things feel better than taking off your bra, at home at the end of a long day. LOL.

btw... if Florida 2000 didn’t convince us... ALL votes matter. Thanks for being one of the 2000 or so...

A good friend of mine is a city councillor, extremely popular; he lost the election by one vote because everyone assumed he was a shoe-in, since he was so popular!

In 1976 a good portion of the Christian Right based their vote on the overt expressions of faith by one of the candidates- Jimmy Carter.

In 1980 they still had the chance to vote for Carter the Sunday School teacher over the once divorced former movie star Ronald Reagan.

Basing a vote on outward expressions of faith by a candidate isn’t a guarantee that you are doing anything good for the country.

I do think Cruz has his demons....one of which is burning ambition that has led him astray.

As you said Trump is Trump. He has succeeded famously already and could sit back and do nothing but he cannot stand to see what has been happening and is a doer so he is doing something about it. I saw a black Pastor give a speech in MO (I think) about Trump and apparently Trump went to him some time ago and the pastor said some really good things in a rousing introduction for Trump.

He said it better than I can:

Glad to have you aboard the Trump trian. Hopefully we can get Trump to an uncontested Convention.

Thank you Elad. What a great Missouri election story. You were instrumental in your state election considering Trump won by .2%. A thank you for your Missouri vote from this Californian.

He’s also probably the smartest and most talented person to ever run as President.

Without notes or script can campaign or appear for hours and he catches falsehoods and responds on the spot.

He scares the hell out of the political class employees. He proves you don’t need them.

He worries the world that we are cutting off our globs welfare.

Now when he gets in though he and I agree on mai points, I hope he expands to do more than we expected and I hope he provides a death blow to politics as usual. Especially so regarding kicking things down the road for decades.

So glad it all came together. I was where you were about 6 months ago. After seeing more through the eyes of Donald after viewing several of his rallies. Donald is the only one not going by the political books. He’s running because he loves his country. I think Cruz wants to think he’s the man to do what is needed but I honestly see him as just a paid worker and money will come before country.

God bless your post. As I have mentioned before, I joined FR years ago but never felt motivated to involve myself in the discussions. This election I felt a personal calling because of Cruz's campaign. To me, there was something about him from the beginning that did not sit right with my faith.

Quite frankly, it was how he used the Church. There was one conflicting thing after another. Even before Cruz blamed Trump for the Bernie mob, I said to myself I cannot live with myself and vote for this man....

All I can say is that whatever level of candidate analysis you find yourself on, one thing is clear: only Trump has a chance at the nomination to get us anything near what we want. Whether it is selling us out on TPA/Corker or selling us out to Jeb/Ryan... He will sell us out.

Thanks for your thoughtfulness.

Trump is not perfect. But he’s caused more change than anybody else and he’s not even in yet.

He broke convention wisdom, to wit;

1) You have to take big money from PACs and lobbyists, etc to win
2) You have to kowtow to the media
3) You MUST have leftist ideas to appeal to minorities

Cruz, on the other hand has at least done #2 and #3 (to some extent). But he has sold out on #1, so it affected his decisions - around Fast Tracking TPP and H1-b Visas (cheap labor express)

Ted was 29 years old and fresh out if college when Roberts was selected. He had very little influence and nothing to do with his nomination.
This is an outright lie.
He liked Roberts. We all did. Until Roberts let us down.
I remember the conspiracy theories that maybe Obama might have something on him.
You can’t always tell what’s in a man’s heart you can only hope he’s true, honest and principled. David Suter was also a disappointment elected by a Republican so you never know.
To blame Cruz is dishonest in itself. Sorry you believe the lies without checking the math.

Hey now!

My wife and I both voted for Trump and will vote for him again if he’s nominated.

One of the pastors at the church I attend wrote a rant comparing Trump to Hitler and saying he is in the neverTrump camp. It was disturbing to hear that from him.

You have managed to explain a lot about “why Trump?”

Trump is when you finally realize that the friends you have been hanging out with haven’t been very good friends.

Trump is when you are tired of trying to back this perfect pious person and sitting around waiting for one “dirty secret” to emerge to slam the guy off the pedestal of sanctimony.

Trump is liberation because you can back him and accept his imperfections and still like the guy for his blunt honesty and sense of humor.

By the way, that is the reason he has done so well, people aren’t fazed by dirt on him because they know he isn’t perfect and have chosen to not follow the usual smear tactics by the media and the Uniparty.

I live in Missouri, and I’ve always felt that a man who went out of his way to make sure you know he’s a Christian, probably isn’t.

Fabulous commentary, and thank you!!! Both for voting Trump and for the common sense reasoning that went into it.

Comparatively, Trump is not what I'd call a moral man, at least by biblical standards, but we know that about him, its a given

Have you seen some of the dudes God chose to be leaders in the Bible? Some of them make Trump look like a saint! :D
