Former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson made a startling admission in a new interview, essentially saying he didnt want to endorse Donald Trump but did so because Trump offered him an advisory role if elected. The admission comes just days after Carson endorsed Trump for the GOP nomination for president.
Carson gave an interview to Steve Malzberg of NewsMax TV. First, Carson said he wished he could have endorsed someone else...

Right. Let’s kill all negative stories about Trump because everyone has already made up their mind.
Trump supporters calling for their safe space again.LOL!
Now just try and close the deal Ben! Cause it ain’t happen!
Yep. And no where did he say he “didn’t want to endorse Donald Trump.”
is this the new RedState?
This is a total mischaracterization of what Carson said. It is best if you listen to the actual Carson interview.
Also, promising an “advisory role” is not a promise of an official role
"CARSON: I have to look at what is practical and what is going to save this country and the American dream for the next generation. Is there another scenario that I would have preferred? Yes. But that scenario isnt available.
MALZBERG: With one of the other candidates you mean?
Carson: Yeah."
I'll go out on a limb and say that candidate was himself.
Just a preview of Deals to come.
No. I don’t want a ‘safe space’ I want a ‘space’ that isn’t bullshit.
You can establish your argument based on something that concerns your own candidate or you can endorse something that won’t get anywhere.
We shall see tonight my friend. I am prepared for whatever the outcome but I fear you are not. Please observe the results with a caring friend who can keep you from doing something drastic to yourself.
This dork from Red State is reinterpreting Carson’s words and twisting them to conform to the typical Red State crap.
So Trump purchased Bens endorsement.
No, Cruz purchased Fiorina’s endorsement with a truckload of Super PAC cash.
Let’s pretend the truth is that Trump offered a job in exchange for Carson’s endorsement.
If that’s true, why would Carson tell people this knowing or should have known this is illegal?
Is Carson an idiot or he is just trying to sabotage Trump?
Where there’s smoke... there’s Jerry Falwell Jr. & a yuuge Liberty University donation
It sure isn’t Breitbart :)
Well yeah.......Ben's running for President would be the same as Trump going into Ben's operating room to do brain surgery. He wouldn't have a clue about the instruments to use or avoid nor the procedures.
Key word is "essentially", which is open to interpretation....
LOL.
Another answer is to look at the statements that were made during the endorsement.
Carson and Trump both indicated that Carson would provide advice on education policy. This is not a quid pro quo, it is Trump agreeing that Carson could help him with the education platform for his contest.
Later? Sec of Education? Well, that could be because he helped write the position.
This keeps everything above board. Done this way it is not a problem
More fargin’ RedState LIES:
“Caleb Howe of the conservative web site RedState noticed the interview and found Carsons comments quite startling.”
Just boycott any radio stations carrying Salem personalities, Salem own RedState and spreads propaganda through these orifices:
William “Bill” Bennett
Mike Gallagher
Dennis Prager
Michael Medved
Hugh Hewitt
—
Sad that Bennett used to be a patriot. The rest are just talking scumbags.
Yeah, I don’t assume Trump didn’t do anything illegal here but if he did...
