Summary
The Mosul Dam in Iraq could collapse at any time, causing massive flooding across the country.
Iraq produces over four million barrels of oil per day, a number which will drop immediately when this event occurs.
The destruction of oil production in Iraq will immediately decrease world supply, lifting oil prices.

If it happens, the left will blame it on Trump as will Kasich,Rubio, Cruz and Romney.
We should blame every senator who voted for the Corker bill which allow this. I believe that Cruz was an aye. Not sure if Marco showed up, if I were a betting man, I would say that he didn’t.
Well then it’ll be interesting to see how we all do without coal, trucks (Bernie wants the trucking industry gone) or oil. After all, the idiot libs think solar panels and wind turbines will do the trick.
If the dam fails, a great cull of muzzie herd is kind of intriguing.
Racism and global warming are to blame. Minorities and children will be hardest hit.
Sounds like several groups could schedule this accident to their favor. Saudis would love it I think. Iran needs money. Russia could probably profit...
Doesn’t the Bible have some mention of a strange flood on the Tigris?????? I’m not thinking of the Red Sea??

The Saudi’s would hate it. They are actively engaged in financial warfare with us trying to kill off our oil industry (frakking specifically). Have you seen the latest rig count? It is mind blowingly low.
There are a couple of “minor” dams up the Nile as well. I hope they don’t all go at once.
“The Mosul Dam in Iraq could collapse at any time”
all the other articles I looked at said there was no threat of imminent collapse.
The Saudi’s could knock out a competitor and raise the oil prices so they could pay more for terrorist networks.
Not denying your terrorist network comment in the slightest. The house of saud needs to ensure we (US) do not become energy independent. As soon as we do and don’t need them the house of saud “royalty” are all dead and they damn well know it. The house of saud has been living on a razors edge for a very long time.
Oh, believe me, while higher prices would hurt my wallet, an energy independent America would be just fine by me watching Saudi Arabia burn for months at the hands of ISIS. They deserve nothing less.
We need high prices for frakking to come back “alive” and for our rig count to increase as the price is too low today for it to be economical for many companies.
It was my understanding that the constant cement caulking of the dam was halted in 2014 when the dam was overrun by ISIL. Then the equipment was looted and sold.
No immediate threat?
Of course not.
I do not know where but at somewhere above $40 a barrel the fracking will pick up again. Iran needs money they will produce more even at cheaper prices. Oil will not control world politics for some decades.
My son is a Measurement while Drilling Engineer. He was laid off last spring. He’s drilling again, 1 month now, in OK.
We were not supposed to be able to drill out of high prices for oil but at somewhere above $40 dollars a barrel we did. The drill baby drill posters here were correct.

The destruction of oil production in Iraq will immediately decrease world supply, lifting oil prices.Seeking Alpha is actually, usually, worth checking out, as it is more of a 'blog than a commercial churn sheet. The writer is given as 'Middle East Medium', which is amusing. Basically, though, this is a whistling trip past the graveyard. Travel stocks -- especially land travel -- and retailing stocks should see a great big upward kick in the pants from lower energy costs. In a couple of years -- assuming no major general war breaks out across the Middle East (and assuming the past 1400 years are normal there, and not considered major general war) -- the economy should be booming, just in time for the midterm elections, and whomever is POTUS will be getting the credit for the boom. But by all means, sit out the 2016 if your candidate isn't the POTUS nominee.
Yeah, and once again George Bush avoids responsibility. It must be part of the Koch brothers master plan I tell ya.
