Not fair using logic to deflate them, LOL.
Are you saying it takes a democrat to beat a democrat?
As a Trump supporter, I would like to say that your question doesn’t make a damn bit of sense.
I’m not a Cruz supporter and I don’t think Trump is a democrat so your question is senseless.
First, Cruz could destroy Trump head-to-head. Right now, the not-Trump vote is being split 3 ways, obscuring the fact that Trump is only getting 32% of the popular vote, and even worse if you consider that Trump is sucking wind in the caucuses which don’t impact the popular vote much.
Second, Trump is pretending to be a conservative. Hillary and Bernie can’t. Every mainstream-media “attack” on Trump attacks him for stating conservative opinions, not liberal ones.
as a cruz supporter i think the number of democratic supporters of trump in the open primaries tells a big deal about the candidate. now, in a general election, does it mean that all of them will stick with trump... i don’t know, i don’t expect it.
most cruz supporters will back trump in the general, i cannot say the same for trump supporters who may pull their support for a third party run.
just my humble opinion
Cruz wont be running against a Democrat. He (or Trump) will be running against a Socialist and/or Marxist.
It’s not easy to try and describe the logic of the Cruz supporters that claim that Trump is a democrat but I’m trying my best here.
So Cruz is so strong in the primaries that he has to rely on another candidate dropping out in order to win...give me a break.
We don’t expect democrat Trump to beat Hillary......
Also: Cruz does far better than the polls say he will in every contest: an average of 12% better. Trump is doing far worse. Yet Cruz beats Hillary in polls, while, contrary to Trump’s absurd lies during the debates, Trump gets his ass handed to him in nearly every poll conducted against Hillary.
I would have to concur. Even if you got the opinion of someone still backing Cruz, what the heck is it good for?
That makes no sense.
You assume Rubio voters will go Cruz.
Cruz doesn’t have the base support to beat Trump.
That will not change in November.
Except hypothetical head to head polls with Hillary are completely meaningless at this time.
It makes a lot of sense. It is a reasonable question!
You want Cruz supporters to not vote for someone who has fought for the Constitution, but instead vote for someone who has supported almost everything they’re against?
I was gonna say it takes a liberal to beat a liberal, but it’s the same difference.
Right now there are 3 Republicans vs. 1 Democrat (your premise). Once it is a 1 on 1 it s over for Trump.
Example go look at the latest poll from Maryland (RCP)
Trump 34, Cruz 25, Kasich 18, Rubio 14
74% of Rubio and Kasich supporters got to Cruz 14% to Trump according to the latest ABC poll.
That would make the Maryland poll (not exactly a Cruz stronghold) Cruz 49 Trump 38.
Game Over.
