Here’s my comment. He’s the son-in-law of Bill Kristol - writes a little blog and is in the family business of Punditry for Profit.

This is like having a blind man tell you that Rosanne Barr is prettier than Marilyn Monroe.

Define "better"

Every ONE of these kinds of questions or statements have an adjective or verb that can be understood in more that one way

Trump could never stand for two days in front of the Senate and talk, nor can he sound like William F Buckley Jr, but that does not take away his ability as a man to be President of The United States

Too many people think Trump cannot win against Hillary because she has a lifetime of verbal gymnastics to draw on in a confrontation

Hillary will not stand up against the one syllable facts Trump will throw at her when they meet

Washington Free Beacon = Washington, D.C. press + corrupt elite politicians + wine & cheese soiree's with the D.C. politicians & press + "let's keep the elite politician in there"=nastiness toward Trump = "let's keep the elite politicians in there, so we can attend the wine & cheese soiree's"!

When totaled up, you get a huge pant load of bullsh*t from the so called 'conservative' press.

Cruz cannot win if he loses Florida and Ohio on Tuesday night. It is a mathematical thing. That day he is also already losing Illinois, north Carolina, Missouri. At that point he will need 900 of the remaining 1100 delegates. That won’t happen. In fact trump would be leading in a large majority of the remaining states. Cruz will not win the delegates necessary to win.

LOL, so if some teenage girls writes a blog trashing Trump you'll post that too. Right?

Do you think any Trump supporter is going to admit that “if they don’t behave we’ll just build the factories over here.” is quite possibly the dumbest statement made last night?

Of course not. Drudge poll says he won the debate, so he won. It ends there.

>>The Oval Office seems very far away right now. It’s unlikely either Trump or Cruz will be elected president. But nominating Trump would change the Republican Party in a way nominating Cruz would not. Trump overthrows the apple cart. He’s already breaking one weak institution—the GOP—and there’s no telling what other weak institutions he could break if elected to high office.

So, in the opinion of this professional pundit, neither will win so we must preserve the institution of the UniParty scam. In other words, “dammit people, we need to turn the heat down and go back to slow boiling you frogs! Too many of you are starting to jump out of the pot.”

Sorta like Harry Truman? He could “offend” with the best of
‘em. - Cruz could take some fashion cues from Trump ‘cause
we live in the age of tv. That’s sad; but true.

Don’t Cruz’s people read Free Republic? We all knew the pledge to vote was in fun. His people have no clue about how pathetic their attacks are when it has to do with anything but policy. Stick to POLICY.

The crowd finally got one of his jokes though.

“Then there is the question of the Constitution. Trump never mentions it. But Cruz worships it.”

Except for that natural-born citizen part.

(Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?)

I agree Cruz would be better - I have trouble figuring out how to get him to the WH. With all the resistance either would get from all the other politicians, neither would be likely to have much difference in”achievements” except via EOs that could be undone if we don’t stay firm and energized through several presidential terms. I figure that whichever of them gets in, there will be factions on FR with the old “I told you so” memes because they really have expectations w/o actually thinking it through. The system is so corrupted that no President, in one term and with resistance such as either will get, will be able to do enough to satisfy many of the good folks at FR.

“Cruz is very conservative, a Bible-believing Christian who is fiercely pro-market and hawkish (if not as interventionist as other Republicans). That might upset secular liberals worldwide. But would Cruz be as erratic, would he be as explosive, would he be as unsettling as Trump? I doubt it. The man idolizes Ronald Reagan. Well, we survived, indeed flourished under, one Reagan presidency. Not a bad model for our next president to have. “

“Well, we survived, ... one Reagan presidency...” Spoken like a TRUE CONSISTENT CONSERVATIVE! I think Matthew’s inner GOPee leaked out! ;-)

“But would Cruz be as erratic, would he be as explosive, would he be as unsettling as Trump? I doubt it.”

After last night’s debate performance, I disagree. Cruz seemed unable to make a cogent point on his own without going after Trump, and he tried the same ‘fiery preacher’ manner without success in almost every answer.

Do you know why there’s a stereotype of evangelicals as unlikeable, Bible-thumping conservatives? It’s because of “explosive,” “unsettling” incidents like that. Nobody wants to be lectured to by an angry preacher, least of all the Independent and Democrat crossover voters in the general.

Trump appeals to people’s common ideas, which is why people will remember more of what he said. They’ll remember him talking about Islam and globalization in such stark terms.

The intelligentsia just can’t seem to understand why people aren’t falling on themselves to vote for another bought-and-paid-for policy wonk.

The knowledgeable people following the debate last night were astounded that Ted Cruz seemed to have memorized Trumps platform on trade and immigration and all 3 stooges were parroting Trumps platform

Kasich bragged about creating 400 jobs in Ohio ( half of them working to process unemployment claims) and said we need more boots on the ground in the Middle East ( just not his)

Crruz said he plans to privatize social security, triggering 144,000 votes for Trump in the Drudge poll, all traceable to IPs in Del Boca Vista . He also hacked on nasal secretions but the Cruz crumb did not make an appearance ... Trump pwned him to an awkward silence on at least one question. This triggered 44,000 votes from Delaware in the drudge poll for Cruz, all emanating from Joe Bidens pool house

Every one of the candidates who said trump is racist about muslims advocated blowing their countries away in the Middle East. Trump said we are not going to be the world's cops anymore but if they want an armed American 911 based In their countries they're going to be billed. So Germany Japan and Iraq, what's in your wallet?

Rubio was as nervous as a spring break frat guy at his first foam party but no surreptitious pill popping was noted. Perhaps he used the extended release version before the debate . Rubio scored one hit though, and nearly tied Kasich for Miss Congeniality. Mostly he agreed with Trump on everything , possibly lining up for the job of Ambassdor to Cuba in the Trump administration. To bolster this he issued a message to the audience in Cuban.

At the end of the debate Trump thanked all 3 of his opponents for endorsing his platform and reminded people to vote. Since Republicans usually remember to do this, we can assume Trump was addressing his low info voters, aka democrats

Good analysis. Basic point -Who knows what Trump would do as POTUS- He is not dedicated to the Constitution, nor does he ascribe to any particular moral code other than "winning".

I'll add that he's a former FOB (friend of Bill Clinton).

I'm just astonished at how many FReepers, evangelicals, and conservatives, have thrown away their principles to back the new "Hope and Change" candidate.

Sorry Trump supporters, but I just can't get past the Trump/Cinton friendship. I really can't.

Every time I start to think "maybe Trump will do some good for the country, if he makes it to be POTUS"- It's like I hear the sound of screetching brakes, and the picture of him smiling with the Clintons come to mind.

The Clintons are the reason North Korea now has nukes. The Clintons gave away our military secrets, and technology to China. The list of their betrayals of our country goes on and on

Missus Clinton has her own " accomplishment"-Benghazi, e mails exc..

I'm supposed to trust in Trump's judgement to be POTUS, but his judgement told him the Clintons were Ok, and to have a friendship with them?

I just can't get past that.
