What would happen if Donald Trump sat down with the Creator of the universe in a SoHo bistro?
The following statements attributed to Mr. Trump are not fabricated. The man truly uttered them. Those attributed to God are likewise genuine.
With whom do you agree?
Lattes are poured and chairs, scooted.
The discussion begins.
Trump: I am a really smart guy. Im intelligent. Some people would say Im very, very, very intelligent. I know what sells, and I know what people want.
God: [I] oppose the proud, but give grace to the humble. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted (James 4:6 and Luke 14:11).
Trump: Nothing wrong with ego. Show me someone without an ego, and Ill show you a loser. Sorry losers and haters, but my I.Q. is one of the highest and you all know it!
God: Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches. When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom. But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil (Jeremiah 9:23, Proverbs 11:2, James 4:16).
Trump: If you dont tell people about your success, they probably wont know about it.
Part of the beauty of me is that I am very rich. Im really rich. Cash is king, and thats one of the beauties of the casino business. And while I cant honestly say I need an 80-foot living room, I do get a kick out of having one.
God: For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10).
Trump: Fighting for the last penny is a very good philosophy to have. I have black guys counting my money. … I hate it. The only guys I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes all day. Who the fk knows? I mean, really, who knows how much the Japs will pay for Manhattan property these days?
God: Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God (Matthew 19:24).
The conversation moves on to Mr. Trumps boasting of his many adulterous affairs.
God: Why should you be intoxicated, my son, with a forbidden woman and embrace the bosom of an adulteress? (Proverbs 5:20)
Trump: Nice t-ts, no brains. A person who is very flat-chested is very hard to be a 10. Oftentimes when I was sleeping with one of the top women in the world, I would say to myself, thinking about me as a boy from Queens, Can you believe what I am getting?'
God: Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered (1 Peter 3:7).
Trump: [Women:] You have to treat em like s—t.
When a man leaves a woman, especially when it was perceived that he has left for a piece of a a good one! there are 50 percent of the population who will love the woman who was left.
If I get my name in the paper, if people pay attention, thats what matters. You know, it really doesnt matter what they write as long as youve got a young and beautiful piece of a.
Its all in the hunt, and once you get it, it loses some of its energy. I think competitive, successful men feel that way about women. Dont you agree? Really, dont you agree?
God: Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for [I] will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous (Hebrews 13:4).
The discussion shifts to Mr. Trumps lifelong and, until of late, Democratic Party affiliation, Obamacare and his opposition to a ban on even partial-birth abortion.
God: Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward (Psalm 127:3).
Trump: No, I am pro-choice in every respect. Very pro-choice. I just believe in choice.
I identify more as a Democrat. It just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans. Hillarys a great friend of mine. Her husband is a great friend of mine. I think Hillary is going to take it, and I think Hillary is very, very capable. Hillarys always surrounded herself with very good people. I think Hillary would do a good job.
[Obama] is a strong guy who really knows what he wants, and this is what we need. What he has done is amazing.
Im a liberal on health care. I like universal health care. As far as single payer, it works in Canada. It works incredibly well in Scotland.
God: Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for [I] love a cheerful giver. Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat (2 Corinthians 9:7; Ephesians 4:28 and 2 Thessalonians 3:10).
The meeting closes with a brief exchange on repentance and forgiveness.
Trump: For many years Ive said that if someone screws you, screw them back. When somebody hurts you, just go after them as viciously and as violently as you can.
God: But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses (Matthew 5:44, Matthew 6:15).
Trump: I dont like to have to ask for forgiveness. Why do I have to repent or ask for forgiveness, if I am not making mistakes?
God: If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Trump: Im going to make America great again.
God: Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people. Good sense is a fountain of life to him who has it, but the instruction of fools is folly (Proverbs 16:18, 14:34 and 16:22).
And so, God, Mr. Trump and their respective followers part ways, agreeing, for now at least, to disagree. (Note: Trump quotes cited and consolidated here, here and here.)
Why do the mods move your posts to chat or whatever?
Have they explained that to you?
I think it’s pretty unfair to 49% of the people here who don’t care that much for Donald Trump.
Be careful who you alienate now...
Like. We need a like button.
False. From https://www.tedcruz.org/cruz-immigration-plan/:
Amend the H-1B visa program to fulfill its original purpose: Work with Congress to pass reform legislation for the H-1B visa program that will:

Mostly just disingenuous.
Absolutely correct! Unless, of course, the office being sought is one wherein personal character is something that matters...
Not only that but about 99% of the responses by Trump supporters to anything skeptical or critical of Trump is something like. “Oh yeah? What about Gruz/Rubio/Jeb/whoever. They are worse.” They might be, they might not be. But they never address any of the criticisms, they merely misdirect and obfuscate in their responses. But it strikes me that many Trump supporters simply seem to be incapable of self reflection on behalf of their sweetheart. It is almost as though they suffer from TSS, Trump Seduction Syndrome. As I have said were I to vote I would lean toward Cruz, but I can objectively identify those things which are (or would be) troubling to me about Cruz. I see no such cogitations by Trump supporters, for whom there is apparently NOTHING that would cool their ardor. Thy may not be a cult, but how would they behave differently if they were?
Its a movement. Lead, follow or get out of the way.
I am not a “Trumper.”
I have not been attacking Ted Cruz or his supporters here, not even once.
Instead I’ve both wanted and written that I’d like to see both sides tone down the attacks and instead criticize Democrats and secular humanists. If they’d do that, we could see who can best address the opposition.
And I’ve consistently defended both Cruz and Trump where it seems right to, but also have expressed concerns about both.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3385693/posts
As I said, I’ve been supporting Cruz and only recently did I decide to vote for Trump as the nominee. I was also up to the moment that I would vote going to keep considering who to vote for, and I might have still voted for Cruz at the last moment.
Now, I can see why you found what I wrote confusing.
It was confusing because this a complex matter, and I never directly said “this is why I switched to Donald Trump.” I was writing quickly and forgot to do that, but knew that I had mentioned some reasons for why I did. I didn’t have the time to write an essay, but instead shared some thoughts and observations.
I also didn’t mention some of the concerns I’ve had about Ted Cruz. I knew they had already for the most part been brought up in discussions here. Just for a couple, that one of his top donors is a homosexual activist, and he also says things to donors in private that are different from what he publicly says.
- None of the candidates, including Ted Cruz and Donald Trump, so much as mentioned Texas prosecutors going after the Center for Medical Progress. They hardly mention defending religious freedom, if at all.
- There are all sorts of situations they could choose to highlight and give national attention to, since they are leaders, running for president, and have the spotlight, but for the most part, they haven’t.
So we’ve had President Obama and Hillary Clinton coming right out with partisan comments every time there’s a new supposed injustice that turns into a Twitter firestorm, while Republicans say little to nothing in response.
Obama and Clinton instantly called the Ahmed Mohamed incident “Islamophobia” and the media was right there with them. No one called it a possible “rush to judgment.” What have the Presidential candidates done to set the record straight and represent the viewpoint of all the people out there who believe the incident was partisan and distorted by the left and the media? THESE are the very sorts of things that set the course for our nation.
To the extent that Republicans have spoken out, though, is why they have some popularity - people hope they will keep talking and say more things that need saying, which the media suppress and Democrats lie about.
Our leaders are the “framers” of issues and stories. They are our primary “judges” (as Solomon and other kings judged matters) and “educators” on the worldly level. They are to study the issues, come to conclusions, and to report to the people, telling the people what they think we should do and why. Those are the justifications for their policies. They largely “shape” what our country considers reality.
I’ve also been disappointed to see how both Cruz and Trump (and the rest of the candidates) are willing to parrot liberal attack lines straight out of the MSM and Salon etc., apparently for their own self-advancement. That is trying to win a personal battle by jeopardizing the war, in my opinion.
I take an evangelistic approach to politics. That means what developments will serve to prepare the way for the Lord in our country, and, as far as our country has influence beyond its borders, around the world?
One thing that does is having incidents like the one with Ahmed Mohamed discussed honestly. So many people support Trump at least somewhat because he has said some of the things that have needed to be said, and not backed down. Remember how the left did the usual thing of trying to hurt him financially with boycotts and it turned from NBC dropping Miss Universe to having him on-air again just months later.
But Trump didn’t do this. People who support things he’d said did. That’s who corporations were responding to.
And while leaders, including the President, have some power, the country is not exclusively run by them. It’s also run by the people and what we do in our everyday lives. For Christians, that means being evangelistic, and trying to use what God has given us in order to introduce people to the Lord, and prepare them for Him.
What can we do, then, with what God has given us to be salt and light, and make the way easier for other people to come to know the Lord, while secular society does whatever it can sow confusion, ignorance and rebellion, in order to make it harder for people to come to know Him?
God chose Israel to be a people who would know Him, and be a nation of priests.
God sent John the Baptist to prepare the way for the Lord.
Jesus sent His disciples before Him to prepare the people where He was going to go to next for Him coming.
Satan knows this and does everything he can to make people unprepared and hostile to God. So I see the Christian’s approach to politics at this time as working for what will help prepare people to receive the Lord.
As I said, Donald Trump on the face of it doesn’t appear to be a Christian, but he has showed willingness to protect and promote the political power of evangelical Christians. His popularity isn’t about him, but that willingness, which so many other leaders have passed on. It’s a willingness to stand up for Christianity. Even many religious leaders haven’t had that.
What would God say if He were having coffee with Hillary?
I suppose it depends on her quotes
