i hope they open this in my lifetime. i fear there will be 10-20 years of bureaucratic haggling and inaction while the antiquities people argue and bicker amongst themselves over who gets credit and who gets the loot and who gets to do the work... even with Hawass already gone.
i hope the same thing about that Nazi train in Poland. i’m reasonably convinced that it really is there and the Polish government just decided they would dig it up without the world press sticking their noses in their business. i wonder if we’ll ever learn any more details about that one.

Technology is allowing archaeologists to find chambers that in all likelihood would have never been discovered. IMO we have only uncovered the tip of the iceberg with respect to archaeology in Egypt.
