t's the film fans have been waiting decades for. And today, the first trailer for the hotly-anticipated Ghostbusters re-boot was finally released. But while many praised the hilarious clip, showing Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones battling New York's supernatural nasties, some have complained that the film is falling back on racial stereotypes. That's because, while the white leads, McCarthy, Wiig and McKinnon, play brilliant engineers, professors and scientists, Jones' character is a simple NYC subway worker.

I’d think it was racial stereotyping if the lead was black.
So there.
Eli Roth has a new horror film out, about these SJW’s who go on a trip to the Amazon rain forest, have a plane wreck and end up being “rescued” by a tribe of “indigeneous people” who are also cannibals.
My guy and I were watching the trailer and he said “So who am I supposed to be rooting for?”
Uh, mirrors the original in that Ramis, Murray, and Ackroyd played the University geniuses (well, Murray was more con-man) and Ernie Hudson was hired off the street.
Politically correct crap that bungled even their own politically correct message.
I have no intentions of seeing it.
Saw the trailer. Looked...boring.
FWIW, the local high school’s calculus class was white and yellow. So was their pre-Calc class. And some years back, I had a chance to do some work with a large group of engineers (no, I’m not one) doing some stuff on a classified project. There was one hispanic. No blacks.
Modern day Butterfly McQueen. Gubmint worker that is loud and talks street. And the white girls try to be funny but aren't.
This movie has bomb written all over it. And I've never figured how that fat Melissa McCarthy gets work.
I see, but we can give all these “diverse” unrealistic roles in Quantico and Blindspot, for example.
Birfin’ babies? They can call and whine when they edit the ‘New and Improved’ “Roots” series casting keane reeves as kunta kinte.
it’ll bomb. these things usually do...
I've noticed these days that, whenever the script has a scientist, computer expert, etc, the actor is very likely to be black.
Any deviance from this trend is decried as "racist". Meanwhile, blacks are awarded about 1% of physics PhDs and 1.3% of computer science/engineering PhDs.
Ghosts?

Except that, apparently, Winston was a former Marine, which explains his reasonably composed demeanor when busting ghosts and his innate competence in handling the equipment.
Feminists demand that fat chicks get into the movies, and are portrayed as sexy. Women, in general, are supposed to all be capable and assertive (and able to beat the crap out of guys three times their size).
True, but I don’t know if that was mentioned in the film, just the cartoons.
And it seems that so many TV shows or movies, if there’s a courtroom scene, the judge is frequently a black woman. Just an observation.
But Hollywood doesn't ever put her in roles like that, they think she's funny, she's not. She's just...fat...
‘Mike & Molly’ has to be the unfunniest ‘comedy’ to ever make syndication.
