From a legal point of view, it is worthless—O.J. was acquitted, and therefore no matter what evidence surfaces can never be held for the murder. On the other hand, if it turns out to be the murder weapon, the police, the D.A. will at least know for sure that he did it and hopefully learn how not to blow the next big celebrity case.
They already know how to do that. Don't empanel a racist jury.
The case was moved away from Brentwood into Los Angeles so as to not have a bunch of white people passing judgement on a black man.
It never occurred to them at the time that black people would put racial animosity ahead of justice.
Actually with compelling new evidence you can face trial again. But the bar is really high, and something with this bad an evidence chain isn’t going to make that height.
