DO NOT VOTE ON THIS THREAD.
This is the nightly DISCUSSION thread for the ongoing 2016 Free Republic Caucus. Per caucus rules, no comments are allowed on the caucus thread itself - hence this open chat thread.
If you'd like to vote in the caucus, please look in the sidebar for the link, or check downthread here.
Thanks, and let 'er rip!
Windy
It doesn’t matter.
Folks will want to come here. It’s all good...
Mighty ugly over on that thread.
Are there any puppy threads anywhere?
imma think imma going elsewhere for the evening.
Have fun!
There's a doggy ping list somewhere. Not sure who holds it. Might try 'doggy' for a keyword.
Have a good night!
I don’t comment on every caucus live chat thread, but I’ve not missed a caucus vote since it started and I aim to keep it that way.
Trump 2016!
Hi All.
Congrats to the Trumpsters.
Tired tonight; I’ll check in tomorrow to see the rest of the comments.
Nite everyone.
Any idea what caused the dip for the 29th?
No. Folks just drop in as they desire.
I think a lot more folks came to the forum today, and they dropped in to vote in our Caucus while they were here.
Well, at least Rubio should be gone after Florida. Wished Cruz had done better, but
I’M A BITTER CLINGER! LOL. Go Cruz!
The dip for Trump?
No, it just depends on who remembers and takes the time to vote.
Note that 14 additional Cruz folks came in day to day, and only five more Trump folks did.
It’s just an anomaly.
I’ve also maintained a perfect attendance record for voting in the caucus. I just enjoy having a different kind of interactive activity on the forum.
I also very much want to show my support for my candidate in some small way.
“Well, at least Rubio should be gone after Florida.”
It’ll be a mighty fine day when we finally hear that Boy quit the race.
Adderall boy can't handle pressure
Which is why Lindsey Graham (of all people) came out and made an appeal for Ted Cruz tonight.
The establishment is willing to get behind even their mortal enemies to stop Trump.
I haven’t seen anything about Alaska here. At 32% reporting it was neck and neck Trump over Cruz slightly with Rubio at a distant third.
I do know that the Alaska polls close really late, relative to the lower 48. But you say that 32% of the precincts have reported? Should be more pretty soon.
Remember too, that much of Alaska is rugged territory. Could make the logistics tough for getting all the precincts counted and reported. Some of them are probably in pretty remote country.
Alabamas delegate rules can best be described as winner-take-most. Under that system, if a candidate gets more than 50 percent of the vote in a congressional district or is the only candidate to receive over 20 percent of the vote, he will receive all three of the delegates available there. Trump will have a difficult time hitting 50 percent, but he will likely win two of the three delegates in districts where he finishes first, as long as he and the second-place finisher each receive at least 20 percent. (The runner-up will get the other district delegate.) If a candidate earns more than 50 percent of the statewide vote, he will receive all 29 of the statewide delegates. However, if no one reaches that mark, all candidates with over 20 percent statewide will get a proportional share of those 29.http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/super-tuesday-preview-republican-presidential-election-2016/
There are various sorts of allocation rules all over the South. The delegate count will change across the South in the next few days when all the results are analyzed in depth.
Another example, Georgia has 76 delegates but only 61 have been assigned. Tennessee has 58 delegates but only 44 have been assigned. 12 are missing from Arkansas etc.

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson announced Wednesday that he sees no political path forward after his Super Tuesday losses — and will not attend the upcoming Fox News debate.
I have decided not to attend the Fox News GOP Presidential Debate tomorrow night in Detroit, he said in a statement Thursday. Even though I will not be in my hometown of Detroit on Thursday, I remain deeply committed to my home nation, America. I do not see a political path forward in light of last evenings Super Tuesday primary results.

Will Dr. Ben Carson stay in your polling, for now, or does this mean he is gone too?
Please disregard my previous question.
“Carson will not formally suspend his campaign.”
bump!
