As billionaire developer Donald Trump became the toast of New York in the 1980s, he often attributed his rise to salesmanship and verve. Deals are my art form, he wrote.
But there is `another aspect to his success that he doesnt often discuss. Throughout his early career, Trump routinely gave large campaign contributions to politicians who held sway over his projects, and he worked with mob-controlled companies and unions to build them.
Americans have rarely contemplated a candidate quite like Trump, 69, who has become the unlikely leader among Republican Party contenders for the White House. He is a brash, Queens-born scion who navigated through one of the most corrupt construction industries in the country to become a brand-name business mogul.

Should be good experience for dealing with the Clinton crime organization.
The mob runs all the construction labor unions on the East Coast. Trump had to hire union construction workers. Oh the humanity!
The WaPo will be piling on, like the rest of the leftist media. They are scared to death of Trump because he can live without them and their anti-American complicity.
Good. Trump should bring the mob into dealing with government unions.
We wouldn't want to democrats hammering this all the way up to November.
Coincidence? You decide.
Great post. True too!
This came out in October.
Thanks for taking the mask off. Bought and paid for career politician Cruz is no better than Rubio. Or McConnell.
this is supposed to make me like him less??
Is there one person who hasn’t swam in mob infested waters in NYC? Is Wapo worried about the Clinton slush fund?
Great, So he shouldn’t have any problems releasing his taxes then.
I see Cruz was just following his GOPe talking points this morning.
I can’t believe I ever supported that fraud as my enthusiastic second choice.
I assume ALL builders had to do the same thing!!
Let's see, Trump is this, no that's not right, well then Trump is that, no that's not right either, ok got it, Trump did this, well no he didn't, I got it, Trump did that...No? you say? Oh crap...just what do we have on him?
That's right, ever since Trump has been a business man, his life has been an open book, who he screwed, who he ate with, who he traveled with, who his wives screwed on the side, where they went, what hotel, motel they shacked up with and for how long...
It's actually funny to watch this, desperation I'm telling you is a cartoon in itself!!!
Good post. lol
I can tell’ya, the republican establishment are hiring teams of private investigators and or contacts in intelligence community to find any morsel to connect Trump with the mob. You can put a crisp new $100 bill on that one.
Just wait until the videos of Trump crushing kittens and puppies gets released.
I see we’ve passed the ideas portion of the primary season
Who wouldn’t play a little footsie with the mob? Now if it were Goldman Sachs...
