Why would Mitt Romney go on national television and declare, "I think we have good reason to believe that there's a bombshell in Donald Trump's taxes. Either he's not anywhere near as wealthy as he says he is, or he hasn't been paying the kind of taxes we would expect him to pay"? Since when does buttoned-down, white-bread Mitt Romney make audacious, provocative accusations? Romney's accusation might be a safe bet â if not to be verified, then to never be refuted. Just a few years ago, Trump refused to release un-redacted tax returns, even when it could help him win a $5 billion libel lawsuit against a New York Times reporter and author. If Trump was unwilling to release his returns in that circumstance, how likely is it that Trump will release them before Election Day? Just for your info, tax returns have 0 to do w/ someone's net worth. I have already filed my financial statements w/ FEC. They are great! â Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 25, 2016 Trump's wealth is a key part of his public image, his status in the eyes of his fans, and his self-image. On July 15, Trump issued a statement declaring, "As of this date, Mr. Trump's net worth is in excess of TEN BILLION DOLLARS." (Capital letters in original.)

So what is in the presidency for any of the candidates?
“If Romney is a Republican, why is he attacking the Republican frontrunner? WHAT A D!CK.”
Romney is a horrible person.
I didn’t like Romney because he took two positions on every issue -— just like Trump.
Of course, this is also why I don’t like Trump.
Coupled with his childish and boorish behavior (and that of his disciples as can be witnessed on this thread), it’s clear he will be a sure loser in the general.
“[Trump] sued those behind a well-documented book that showed he has between $250-$350 million and he LOST. Even one of his banks, Deutschebank, only estimated his net worth at $750 million.”
Correct. His claim of being a super businessman — his chief qualification for office -— is a sham.
You would think people would want to know they are being lied to.
I agree with you but will go further - if you don't mind some fine-tuning to your erudite statement:
"My unsupported hunch is that Romney misses politics and spends all his time talking about it with people who are very anti-Trump to the point where he just couldn't hold back any more and decided to go public anyone who will listen ."
Fixed.
They’d like to turn the USA into Jonestown, too.
Not if he is spending it like he has.
Well, you know the old joke about how to make a small fortune: start with a large one.
What if he has more?
_________________________________
If he had more he would have documented it. In 2005 when he claimed a net worth at 5-6 billion a bank loaning money for the project estimated his net worth at 700m, a not inconsiderable sum, but not great given that he inherited 400m when his dad passed away.
So he has a history of bull sh!t about his net worth.
“What business is it of yours what Trumpâs net worth is.”
None at all in normal circumstances.
As posted, however, Trump’s chief claim of being qualified to be president is being the best negotiator and businessman in the world.
Turns out he’d have many, many, billions more than even what he claims if he just put his inheritance in an index fund.
So he’s lying and self-promoting.
That’s information I’d want about someone I would consider voting for as the leader of the free world.
“$400,000,000 inheritance”
No offense or anything, but you are dangerously insane.
Are you kidding? You think I posted this information because I would vote for Bloomberg or Hillary? You called me a fool and an idiot, which doesn’t mean too much coming from someone that can’t read information without thinking it is a threat to their candidate. But nonetheless, you are out of line. You better get a thicker skin sweetheart, because if Trump makes it to the general it will get real.
However, what I think Trump is concern about - and this comes from my years of reviews on real estate investors, he is asset rich and cash poor. If true, then his claim he can self fund is in serious jeopardy. I am positive this is the angel the Mitt is looking for.
First, it’s clear you are indeed the blowhard here reading your own comments on your own thread. Talk about speaking on that of which you know nothing - you don;t know sh$t about what Trump may have or not.
Second, this isn’t about transparency, it’s about oppo-research. And Willard lied to Neil Cavuto. He released a summary of a single year in January of 2012 and released real taxes in September of 2012 because of Harry Reid, not because of transparency. And he got killed - as he would have - no matter what his taxes said. He didn’t win one day of the campaign thereafter.
Third, the response here shouldn’t be to Trump it should be to erstwhile POTUS Romney - “have you no decency sir?”.
“Heâll take your guns”
Yeah, have you read this?!:
“I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun.”

Oh sorry, wrong liberal New York billionaire.
Quit lying. You’ve never cared about someone’ net worth when selecting them as president. You have zero intention of voting for Trump.
Amen
Actually, you seem to LOVE Romney. You’re not fooling anyone with your “horrible person” stuff.
And by the way, that vulgar “short-fingered” crap is straight out of the fancy-haired, left-wing Graydon Carter’s ancient “Spy” Magazine from the 1980s. So who is boorish and childish here?
We all know Mitt Romney lied about his taxes an let an poor woman die. he also stuck some poor dogs on nthe top of his car to be abused.
What a dirtbag.
