I’m not saying we have to be politically correct. But if the monitors are censoring, what are the censored saying? Shouldn’t we (you since I’m new) rebut that?

I only want to know if you were asking a certain question: You wrote “Why is there censorship?” I think you meant this as a follow up to the previous sentence. I think you were saying “Why (does it cost so much money to run this site)...Is there censorship?
I too have wondered why it takes ongoing funding, but, then, I admittedly do not know what it takes to build, design, and maintain such a news forum. It’s remarkable that this can be done without a whole lot of advertising. I, personally, could tolerate a small amount of advertising, so long as it didn’t end up like The Blaze, where the pop-up ads just about prevent you from reading the articles. Breitbart better watch it as well, for the same reasons. Most times I visit Breitbrt, those blasted pop-up insergents chase me away after a few minutes of viewing.

Enough on Freerepublic gets through to convince me they’re an okay bunch of guys. On other sites, I would have been shown the door a long time ago. It’s relatively free.
I have no idea what the monitors censor in total, but I have read offensive posts and flagged them. They have been things that were truly racist or really really insensitive to some people. Also, I believe all violent photos should be preceded with a graphic! warning. I’ve hit abuse for some of those popping up in my face especially when I was pregnant and sensitive.

I do have to give credit where it’s due. But the quarterly budget seems to just be giving s few people jobs at the expense of the donors. Websites are not expensive anymore.

Only two US citizen parents can bequeath 'natural born' US citizenship to their child... Hillry knows the law, and she is not going to let a 'natural born' Canadian usurp her coveted office... Oh, I am not a lawyer, but, I have known since I had to pass a Constitution test in 'middle' school what 'natural born' US citizen means. I was born in Germany, to two US citizen parents and I am not a 'natural born' US citizen.
