Business mogul Donald Trump is optimistic about the future of New York City if Democratic candidate Bill de Blasio wins the mayoral election.
“I think pretty strongly that he’ll end up being a good mayor, maybe a very good mayor and I don’t think he’s going to want to kill the golden goose,” Trump told an Albany radio station Thursday, according to the New York Daily News.

“I think he’s a smart guy that knows what’s going on really big league and I think he is not going to want to destroy New York,” Trump said. “I think he is going to want to make New York great.”
De Blasio has been leading his Republican opponent, Joe Lhota, in the polls by a staggering margin.
As for his own political future, the newspaper reported that Trump remained vague repeating he is not interested in running for governor of New York, but said 2016 might be possible if the “right person” does not step forward.
The election for New York City mayor is Nov. 5

That “just doing business” excuse just does not cut it with me any more.
I think Trump bullies those people he does not think can fight back and win. Fighting city hall and he would lose. Fighting Ben Carson and Cruz he can win. Fighting the Pope he could win because he is on the home field. Will he bully somebody like Putin?
i’m not sure ;
but he wouldn’t say ‘i’ll stay home’
When he said that he was much younger and naive. He’s grown since then. Anyone who repeats this ancient stuff is the biggest liar ever, unstable, sick, not a real Christian and a big soft baby.
Obviously cogent thought and educated decipherable reasoning is WAAAY above your pay grade.
“Anyone who supports Trump needs to stop calling themselves conservative.”
Wow, when were you elected as THE authority to make these declarations? Reads like a Schumer presser.
I assume you are being sarcastic..... That was just 3 years ago..
Trump actually does very little developing in New York these days. And not all that much elsewhere - for quite some time, his business has been more of a licensing business than a real estate development business.
He got things done for the shareholders of his companies and as president will get things done for Americans.
Trump's companies are privately held. His "shareholders" are Trump.
Ted Cruz.
This stuff is going NOWHERE. Voters don’t care that he gave money to Dems. I would have thought the last 3 primary elections would have taught you that.
Then he did what he did to make his company successful. And he does have partners and/or subcontractors who succeeded because of trump’s success.
Well, except for the fact that Trump is notorious for failing to pay subcontractors.
It’s crap like this that his supporters either choose to accept or ignore.
Personally it makes me very queasy.
Orange Gumby, the other sides Bill Clinton. Tell em what they want to hear.
The BEST predictor of future actions is past actions.
In ‘13, deBlasio was running for office and all anyone could do was to speculate about his performance. He was inaugurated January 1, 2014. By 2015 he had proven to be very bad.
There is effectively no Republican Party in NYC. Certainly none to count on to recruit a realistic candidate. Occasionally they will get a Rudy Giuliani but that’s it.
If you look at who was running for Mayor of NYC in ‘13, the options (out of 8 million people) were limited. They included deBlasio, Rodney Danger, and the dyke chair of the city council. From that mix, deBlasio appeared to be the best option.
Trump is not a conservative as one perceives the term in certain parishes. At this point, many accept that, but accept also that he is the best, most conservative, and realistically viable opponent to either Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders.
Trump does have a track record of accomplishing what he sets out to achieve. If he achieves limits on illegal immigration, manages to persuade companies not to leave the country (or to return) and creates an environment that creates jobs, most of us will accept that vs. going off the cliff where we are now headed.
This is gonna make the trumpsters mad...at you. He’s gonna build that wall...really!
We’re probably going to find out. And if Cruz whithers under Trump’s assault, what would he do against Iran and Russia?
