Serious Question
Freerepublic ^ | 02/21/2016 | bolobaby

Here is a serious question I want everyone to consider:

When Trump announced his presidential run on June 16th of 2015, if he had announced he was running for the DEMOCRATIC nomination, would it have be unbelievable? Could he have positioned himself as a "moderate" democrat and gotten away with it? Would his history have supported that kind of announcement?

Your counterfactual hypothesis is not a serious question.

Plus national concealed carry

Plus an end to PC speech

Plus he is at least somewhat anti abortion

Plus he wants to abolish Obama care and replace it with free market cost control alternatives

Anyone that thinks Trump is running as a crypto-democrat is either a fool or a tool.

Some of the positions he has taken are kryptonite to Dims. If he had announced as a Dim his campaign would have ended right then and there.

Oh yeah. Easily, but it's Hillary's turn. His political allies (up until he decided to run on another party ticket) would have talked him out of it.
They'd still be hitting him up for campaign contributions, though. He'd be good for at least a few grand for Hillary. He's always been there for her.

How was Bernie allowed to run in Democrat Primaries when he is not even a registered Democrat but is an Independent? I guess the Dems don’t require loyalty oaths like The Donald was forced to sign.

I don't agree. Trump is a patriot, pure and simple. That's why I support him, more than anything else.

"The cost of building a permanent border wall pales mightily in comparison to what American taxpayers spend every single year on dealing with the fallout of illegal immigration on their communities, schools and unemployment offices.

Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages;
increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats
(and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards...of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays);
increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays);
and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options].

We will not be taken advantage of anymore."

Donald Trump

What’s unbelievable is that Mr. Trump even gave the GOP wussies the time of day. This Republican controlled Congress willingly gave carte blanche to the enemies of the United States, not the least of which is obama.

The American people have been slowly but surely losing their liberties since 9/11/2001 and the Constitution is currently hanging by a thread.

Save your ‘Trump is no conservative’ for someone else.

“Trump in many ways is a Truman Democrat.”

Truman was a product of the KC mob (i.e., Tom Pendergast).

If he was going to do that by going after illegals as he did when he announced, his campaign with the Democrats would have lasted about 0.000578 seconds

He used to brag about how many illegals he hired before he decided to run on the Republican ticket. That's how compassionate he was. He would still be bragging right now if he were on the democrat ticket instead.
In Trumps own words (O'Reilly Factor, FOX News) he said he could be anyone he wants to be at any time. Right now, he wants to pretend he's a conservative Republican. Before that, he pretended to be a devout NYC liberal. Who knows what he'll pretend to be a year from now. It depends on what's best for Trump.

Hmmm...

Yep. Don’t see it.

Who said that? Certainly not me. I said I would write in Cruz, even if it meant Bernie got elected, because at least I would be voting with a clear conscience.

Don’t believe the lies some Trumpettes spread.

Yep...It was Killery’s turn and no one and nothing was going to stop it this time.

They tilted the table, twisted the schedule, and all but gave it to her on a silver platter. This business of a primary and feeling “the Bern” is nothing but a show for the typical democRAT imbecile voter. This was never in question.....ever.

The Clintons, especially Killery don’t do campaigns, they are shows.

Although 47 of the 74 worldwide swallow species are found in Africa,1 only two species are named after the continent: the West African Swallow (Hirundo domicella) and the South African Swallow (Hirundo spilodera), also known as the South African Cave Swallow.

Since the range of the South African Swallow extends only as far north as Zaire,2 I felt fairly confident that this was the non-migratory African species referred to in previous discussions of the comparative and cooperative weight-bearing capabilities of African and European swallows.3

left: South African Swallow
right: European Swallow

Kinematic data for both African species was difficult to find, but the Barn or European Swallow (Hirundo rustica) has been studied intensively, and kinematic data for that species was readily available.

It’s a simple question of weight ratios

A 54-year survey of 26,285 European Swallows captured and released by the Avian Demography Unit of the University of Capetown finds that the average adult European swallow has a wing length of 12.2 cm and a body mass of 20.3 grams.4

Because wing beat frequency and wing amplitude both scale with body mass,5 and flight kinematic data is available for at least 22 other bird species,6 it should be possible to estimate the frequency (f ) and amplitude (A) of the European Swallow by a comparison with similar species. With those two numbers, it will be possible to estimate airspeed (U).

A good salesman can reframe and turn any argument into its opposite. For example in theory say that Trump wanted to appeal to the Dems.on the issue of immigration, he could change it up and say something like:

“Big business and rich guys - and believe me I KNOW because I am one and I hang around with them - are USING these people as almost slave labor and that is the reason Wall Street and people like Jeb Bush want to bring them in...we (Democrats) believe in fairness and I am going to make sure that nobody cuts in front of someone else in line who wants to come here legally and earn fair wages...etc. etc”.

I grew up in a family of expert salesmen who could have everybody drooling over some glass elephants or a broken down car in a heartbeat. I could hear my own mother describe my life over the phone and almost make me think things were going great!. (I called her “Christmas letter woman” because she painted everything as so wonderful. ) My dad and siblings - the same way.

It all boils down to human nature and people believing what they want to believe and filling in the “reason” and logic part AFTER the decision has been made. There is much research to show that this is just how the brain works. We humans are not really all that logical. Show us shiny objects, convince us that your glamor or good luck will rub off on us and most of us are so “there”!

So, my answer is yes. It is all just words and words are anything. This is why words mean nothing to me as far as convincing me of things and I only look at what people have actually done. The best predictor of future behavior is...past behavior.

You Are Now Less Dumb and You are Not so Smart by David McRaney have some interesting information on this sort of thing.
