If Donald Trump wins the presidency, there's definitely one place out there that will be welcoming fleeing Americans with open arms: Canada's Cape Breton Island. The rural Nova Scotia island is angling to solve Americans' impending Trump problem by inviting anyone who wants to "get the hell out of there" to move to the island.

Sure you can own a firearm in Canada. There are restrictions on handguns, but Canada is far from gun free.
Better than flipper pie.
The only hope I have is that if DT does win that Cruz will stay in the Senate and expose all the unconstitutional deals that will be made.
Goodness! I’ll pass.
And I’m going to tell PETA on you too! >;-0
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Summers there are too short.
It’s rugged country. It’s cold enough to need road salt in the winter, and warm enough to corrode cars in the warm salty air in the summer. The result is that cars rust out in about three years. The barren rocky countryside seems to grow little but moss. I asked a native about what the people do there as we flew over the barren rocks. “It’s the three F’s. There’s fishin’, fightin’, and I’ll let you figure out the third one.” At least there’s some hope there.
Hay, here’s an idea why not get in touch with YOUR CITIZEN Ted Cruz and tell him he can be president of this island. After all he is one of yours even if he did renounce his citizenship can’t change the FACT that he was born in Calvary.

They lost me at the cheese curds. lol Why do that to french fries & gravy? (& the gravy’s all wrong, imho)
I’ve always wanted to go to Nova Scotia for the coast + aurora (maybe), so I hope this expatriation doesn’t happen.
HA. That would be ironic.

Generally, the people are nice. The seafood wonderful. Scenery is gorgeous!
And then, there’s always Oak Island. ;)

I’ve read that. It is definitely gorgeous. And much different to what I’m used to.
Wow. Oak Island looks really interesting. :-) Sounds like it would warrant more than a brief visit. Bookmarked! Thanks!
The History channel has a interesting series about exploring Oak Island.
We haven’t had cable in forever, but I wonder if there’s a video out there somewhere. Seems like there would be. I’m going to look on Amazon.
Ooo cool. Thanks so much, Daffynition!
