It may sound crazy now but it's very possible Trump will pick Cruz as VP [vanity]

Posted on 02/16/2016 7:04:51 PM PST by springwater13

At the end of the day, it's about business. Trump doesn't have the organization Cruz does and won't want to spend the money to build it from scratch. Picking Cruz as Veep allows him to get his organization "wholesale" out of "bankruptcy" at a price that can't be beat "free."

Donald's not stupid. He'll make the deal if Cruz is agreeable to it and they can figure out a working partnership.

I wouldn’t doubt it. Reagan and Bush hated each other.

You won’t, because many of us are thinking the same thing.

The days of me supporting that are long gone.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he did, and I think he and Sessions are probably the only two people in the GOP that would not make me angry if he picked.

Perhaps Lee too, but I’m a little miffed about something he voted on recently, so I don’t know.

I think his VP pick will be breathtakingly unexpected. Trump does not allow himself to be predictable. He will probably pick a non politician..

I like Ted Cruz.
I like Donald Trump.
Whether or not they like each other personally...it would be fantastic if they declare a truce.

I don’t think so, not if Jeff Roe is still around managing the Cruz team. I think Trump is capable of holding a grudge against someone who is sincerely and genuinely a terrible human being, and Roe fits that bill.

If he does take on Cruz, I think he’ll insist he fires Roe. But then if he fires Roe, he loses Axiom Strategies. Then he loses the “ground game”.

I hope if I’m wrong and they team do up (which I honestly wouldn’t mind), Roe has nothing to do with it. It’s not worth having a ground game if it’s all a bunch of fake support in the form of Super PAC employees. If Trump and Cruz teamed up and Trump supporters started getting spammed and lied to and generally treated like (no offense) chump churchgoers who are terrified of offending their pastor, Trump’s support will evaporate.

How does he pick someone he claims is ineligible, exactly?

I’m not so sure that Trump has the humility and heart to be party to mutual apology and forgiveness.
Remember, he’s bragged several times about not feeling the need to acknowledge being a sinner and needing forgiveness.
The Complete opposite of Mr. Reagan’s class act humble nature.

Trump scowls for good reason.
It’s an expression of who he is.

Cruz to the supreme court. He is young enough to stay there 35 years.

Of course he may. Donald Trump doesn’t believe anything he says, he is just “negotiating”.

But his disciples may be shocked and dismayed, because they do believe what he says.

Trump already asked him and he said no.

Cruz had to remind him that he was running for President, not VP.

That is why Trump called him ''sort of a maniac.''

I’ll be very disappointed if Trump does. Cruz has proved he doesn’t have integrity. There are a ton of other people that he can chose and it doesn’t have to be someone running.

A VP pick has to bring a swing block or swing state in. And out of the current candidates (not that the pick has to come from them) Kasich can probably deliver Ohio (and yes, I can’t believe I actually said that!)

But my gut feel is it has to be a woman, to counter Hillary if she’s not in jail.
