I cannot stand the taste of coffee. I love the smell of it, I love coffee flavored things like coffee ice cream, but I cannot manage to get myself to enjoy it as a beverage. I really want to learn how to like it, though. I enjoy most foods and drinks, but coffee is my next culinary challenge to surmount. Any advice for a coffee novice like myself? I know that the key to liking foods/drinks that you dislike is constant exposure, but I was wondering what is considered "mild" in the coffee world and something from which I can work my way up.
Arabica instant, raw sugar, coconut creamer.
Sugar in the raw about 50 50 mix
Why bother. If you don’t like coffee you don’t like coffee. I don’t like coffee, hasn’t negatively impacted my life. Actually when I see how much money and effort coffee fans put into a beverage they just pee out 20 minutes later I think not liking coffee might actually improve my life.
Ease into coffee using flavored creamers at first.
Get some 100% Kona coffee and drink it black.
If you need tips on how to make coffee, Darksheare is the one to talk to. :-D
100% Columbian is the way to go. Maybe you should try iced coffee first. Have you tried it with milk or cream and sugar? I don’t like sugar in hot coffee but I do in iced coffee.
I love coffee, but you don’t have to. Sometimes we just don’t like certain foods.
I don’t like wine, I wish I did but I just don’t.
That and avoid anything brewed by Darksheare...
You have likely tasted some poor quality coffee. Try some Douwe Egberts.
if you don’t like it don’t drink ....your just saving yourself some money
I like coffee.
But if you don’t like it, and more importantly, don’t need it, then don’t start.
Count your blessings.
You probably won’t like coffee.
But you can make it better by buying some commercial syrups. Get a chocolate syrup to make it taste more like a mocha.
Near Atlanta by any chance? I can cure you.
Quality beans, home roasted if possible, fresh ground, brewed in an AeroPress or vacuum brewer, with good water at the right temperature for the right time, is a delight.
Most coffee is swill, violating all the above points.
Easy you have to start at an early age. I hope you are not 10 yet.
You should see my tea collection. ;) I am just as fanatical about tea as some people are about coffee. I like to try and learn to like new things. I tackled cottage cheese this morning and triumphed.
Studies have shown that tasting something 10 times (not at once) will change your taste for foreign food. I have hated carrots since I was kid. Tastes like soap to me. I hated Nachos until I kept trying them at different times. I love coffee, hate coffee ice cream but that’s because I got a stomach virus the first day I tried it. blughach. LOL
“Near Atlanta by any chance? I can cure you.”
Seattle, actually.
Add some Brandy or Kahlua, it will be fine.
