Years ago, there used to be a FReeper that always posted rabies stories.
Not so much here in the States as far as the danger to humans, but rabies is a very scary disease in some countries.

YIKES! My wife is from the Pacific coast seaport of Callau, and she’s traveling back there for a month this Summer (Winter in Peru) to take care of her mother.
Between the Zika virus and this rabies risk, perhaps she should remain in relatively safe Nebraska!

Wasn’t there a Criminal Minds episode with a guy kidnapping people and them inoculating them with rabies so he could watch them go crazy and die? Very creepy episode,
