DO NOT VOTE ON THIS THREAD.
This is the nightly DISCUSSION thread for the ongoing 2016 Free Republic Caucus. Per caucus rules, no comments are allowed on the caucus thread itself - hence this open chat thread.
If you'd like to vote in the caucus, please look in the sidebar for the link, or check downthread here.
Thanks, and let 'er rip!
Windy
You’re welcome, Amy!
Thank you for the compliment! It’s really not a big deal to put up this thread each night (though it is just before my bedtime).
Doughty and Lonely Bull are the ones doing all the heavy lifting.
Yeppers...you betcha :-)
Check post # 19, as well for a handy dandy results chart with links.
I wouldn’t put much stock in your daily caucus threads. People have avoided FR by the dozens as a result of the abuse and disrespect they’ve received because they’re Cruz supporters.
Maybe you could do a count of the FReepers who no longer come to participate or even to read. Then the Trump supporters can have discussion threads where they congratulate themselves for thinning the herd.
I’m here every day, and I really honestly see more insulting going from Cruz supporters to Trump supporters. I’ve seen both but far meaner and greater quantity from the Cruz supporters.
Glad to explain it BigBob.
Don’t fret. It was something new and interest always wains in new things.
We’re getting 200 plus people per day. Yesterday we had over 250.
I’d like to see thousands, but we’re just starting out.
perhaps for the Cruz supporters, but the Trump supporters vote no matter what; though there has been a falling off for both groups. I really don’t understand that...it’s so easy to vote.
I will simply watch you state that on this thread.
I’m not going to show you what I would on other threads.
I welcome the Cruz folks to vote, and am simply amazed at the people who never come to the vote thread to support their man.
Trump folks take a pass too, so this isn’t a one way street.
I’m sorry you think the Cruz folks are treated worse.
Most of us aren't wishy washy, we do "keep up" with the news, so it doesn't surprise me that most of us have picked a candidate to support and that's it for us.
You and your group; have run off LOTS of posters by your actions and words.
And NO Trump supporter/s, that I know of, have sent filth or HATE FRMAIL to Cruz supporters. The same can NOT be said of the reverse situation.
Thanks D1; I just wish that more people would vote. :-)
Unbelievable. I spend a lot of time reading at FR, and know for a fact that more dirt and general nastiness has been dished out by Cruz supporters, than Trump supporters. It's not even debatable.
I'll ask you a question -- how many derogatory names for Cruz supporters have you seen posted here? Can you name more than one? Here are a few choice descriptors from the Cruz crew:
Trumpanzees
Trumptards
Trumpophiles
Trumpkins
That's just a small sampling off the top of my head. More are littered throughout the pages of this website.
So do I.
We all say we want FR to have a big voice on the internet, and then we have 200 take part.
To me it would seem much more impressive if we had thousands per day taking part.
Think what it would look like if we had 3217 votes on a given day. That would be impressive.
Right now it looks like we have very few people. That bothers me.
It's strange that we have so many people posting to threads, but then see only a few voting. I don't understand what they're afraid of.
Some people don’t like to air their votes in public.
I will say they reveal it on threads, so I don’t get it either.
Don’t forget. The populace at large doesn’t vote.
As someone who has tried to stay neutral (like them both), my observation has been that both have a few obnoxious posters, but for the most part, the “Trumpsters” tend to aim their fire at Ted Cruz, the candidate.
The “Cruzers” tend to go straight to name-calling and personally insulting the intelligence of anyone who doesn’t hate Trump as much as they do.
It is a good feeling to go off to tally the vote, and by the time I come back and post the results 30 to 50 people have already voted.
Very satisfying.
