Socialism: Like a skyscraper crane about to topple in high winds, Venezuela is teetering on the brink of a horrific economic collapse. It was brought on by one thing: socialism, taken to the hilt.
Yet incredibly, neither Bernie Sanders nor his voters make this connection.
It's worrisome that so many Americans see socialism in a favorable light these days. A May 2015 YouGov poll showed that socialism was viewed favored favorably by 43% of Democrats, while a June 2015 Gallup poll showed that 47% of Americans would vote for a socialist.
It points to a collective loss of memory. After all, it's been decades since the fact that the Berlin Wall fell and the Soviet empire collapsed. As chess champion Garry Kasparov has noted in "Winter Is Coming," there have been no truth commissions or victory parades to institutionalize the monstrous idea's discreditation and demise. In fact, the idea seems to be resurging in the U.S. Democratic Party, even with examples of its failures continuing, the latest example being Venezuela.

It is insane that the democrats don’t make the connection.
Dems think income inequality is more important than toilet paper.
When you consider the public schools have been controlled by childish leftist teachers who hate America and pass on their lies to the children, it is no wonder the left are neo Nazi fascists.
One of the most important attributes of a good socialist is the ability to lie to oneself.
Secondarily is the ability to refuse to accept reality.
Of course, the two are related.
Hey, IBD - that's not his job, because he has an agenda to advance. How come you're not asking the Republicans to explain to the voters that socialism is a loser and will always result in starvation and executions?
Once they get guns out of the hands of patriots, they’ll go full commie. Think how much it’s changed in the last ten years. Ten years ago, all the Dems wanted to say they were actually for the 2nd amendment (even Obama!). Now there are numerous Dems calling for Australian style outright confiscation.
We got it. Bernie is a socialist. It takes a little digging to find out. You have to listen to him when he tells you he is a socialist and I guess you have to take him at his word that he is not, in reality, a crypto fascist.
The irony that is lost on all the idiots who think this needs to be repeated is that Bernie is not is a sell-out crony capitalist, in either Democrat or Whig clothing.
If it is sell-out Marco v Bernie, my dollars are on Bernie. Yes, we get it - Bernie is a socialist.
Great headline!
BTTT
There is no income inequality, there is a free market in which we can get paid what we find we are worth.
Some are not even worth the minimum wage.
They just don't give a damn.
Besides, the problem with vene zooalia was that they ran out of money.
That will not happen here, because we will simply raise taxes for more money!
The failures of socialism is always blamed on the corruption of the United States.
For example the failure of Cuba is because the US isolated Cuba. The fact that Canada, Mexico and all of Europe trade with Cuba is irrelevant.
If you are willing to ignore economic and historical facts it easy to be for socialism because it is very emotionally comforting to be able to blame your failures on someone else.
The fruits of public education.
A socialist is just a communist with an iPhone.
They call themselves leftists so they can remember which hand to use when the toilet paper runs out.
How is a democratic socialist different from a national socialist?
Sanders is a neanderthal. He’s simply spouting the same cheap slogans of an unchanged, brutal, and completely failed 175 year old economic theory. It has literally failed everywhere it has been tried - and yet he proudly calls himself a socialist.
As I define things, democratic socialism and national socialism are in different dimensions:
Democratic socialism is distinct from undemocratic socialism. Democratic socialism is where the people vote themselves one another's money. Undemocratic socialism is where the worst get on top, the people are disarmed, and elections are cancelled.
National socialism is distinct from purely economic socialism. The difference between them is who the public wants to be killed. Under national socialism, the public wants people of other races or nationalities to be killed (e.g., German Nazism). Under purely economic socialism, the public wants people of certain classes to be killed—like entrepreneurs, the rich or intellectuals (e.g., Soviet Communism).
“Yet incredibly, neither Bernie Sanders nor his voters make this connection.”
You don’t understand. Hugo was such a nice guy and did such great things for his people. But greedy, counterrevolutionary, reactionary forces destroyed Venezuela’s economy just to make Bernie Sanders look bad.
So it wouldn’t be fair to make Bernie talk about it.
