"It starts with the catfish in the mailbox..." Maybe this is the "lite" version of a mafia "sleeping with the fishes" warning. Its starts with sardines. Then mackerel. Moves up to catfish. Next thing you know, the local mafia hitman is stuffing an albacore in the mailbox.

When I was a kid growing up, my brother in law had a truck that used to do rural runs delivering bread and other sundry pastries... I guess they called it a ‘bread route’. One time we noticed that he had removed a bunch of bread from his delivery truck as it was past its ‘best before’ date and it got sitting around long enough in the garage to get some serious mould on it. Not knowing what to do with it, we decided to load it up and drop off a loaf in the middle of the night to the mailbox of everyone in the surrounding neighbourhood. We still howl about all the WTF comments that this gave....
