The 'Call to Action' from the Pacific Patriots Network is expected to reach full fruition today as supporters of the farmers and ranchers of Harney County arrive in the largest numbers yet.
A rally is being held in Burns to tell the FBI to get out and call for the resignation of local officials like Sheriff Dave Ward and Judge Stephen Grasty, who are seen by locals as the enablers of the federal land control program.
Later this year if a 'national monument' is declared on federal land in Harney County as is planned, some 400 ranchers stand to be wiped out.
There is deep anger over the killing of Robert "LaVoy" Finicum last Tuesday.
Shawna Cox was one of those arrested at the roadblock and was in the vehicle with LaVoy Finicum.
Shortly after her release from jail on Saturday, she gave for the first time her account of what happened on the "Free Capitalist Radio" broadcast.
Cox agreed with the account of Victoria Sharp, also in the vehicle but not arrested, that law enforcement used hundreds of rounds of ammunition when they shot Finicum.
And what about the situation at the refuge itself where the occupation began over four weeks ago (Saturday January 2nd).
"OregonLive" published a story last night headlined: "Uncertainty builds after last occupiers fall silent online".
Most of the communications channels for the four people have fallen silent.
What's next for the four people still there (Sean Anderson, Sandy Anderson, David Fry and Jeff Banta)?
The jailed Ammon Bundy has called on those remaining to leave, his lawyer says that's all he can do.
The four themselves are fearful of an FBI doublecross, as happened with others who walked out of the refuge earlier.
Convoys of law enforcement regularly roll in and out of the blockade six miles from the refuge including armored vehicles. "Shift Changes" no doubt in the siege that continues and the standoff that continues, its not over yet, in Oregon.
I’ve seen that in some of the videos I posted, but beyond politics shouldn’t this issue be a matter or principle in the end and shouldn’t folks like Trump or Cruz be there to ID with local concerns about the land and the ranchers way of life being destroyed by the federal government.
This needs to be front and Center.
I wonder if Obama thinks these cops are too militarized?

Come support Harney County citizens and demand accountability of LaVoy Finicum's death.
You’re kidding, right? There’s no way Trump would touch this issue with a 10-foot pole.
There’s absolutely nothing new or unique to what’s going on in Oregon. Nothing new about what the government is doing and nothing new about the lack of detailed news coverage. The same thing happened when I lived in Alaska in 1980 and, in complete violation of the Alaska Statehood Act, the federal government took control of 157 MILLION acres of land in the state of Alaska and set it aside for national parks, national monuments, national wildlife refuges, etc., etc., etc. According to the Alaska Statehood Act, the state was to have 50 years (until 2009) to select 104 million acres of land that was to remain under the control of the state. In setting aside that land, the federal government put an estimated 20-30,000 people out of work - in a state of only 400,000 people at the time.
Maybe its time for all that to change.
I saw a group of determined folks in Nebraska some 33 years ago put the issue of freedom for Christian schools there front and center.
They got Ronald Reagan’s sympathy and a backdown from the then Democrat governor Bob Kerrey.
People went to jail and a group of pastors got word to a judge they would take the padlock off a church even though sheriffs deputies were ordered to shoot anyone who did.
The judge backed off.
Why do we still hear this today, that the Government man is here to help us? Remember Reagan's famous words that we should be scared of concerning Fed help.
Also, Trump or any other policktician is not our SAVIOR and these 400 ranchers are not looking for jobs. They are looking for justice and life for their own.
And yes, we are a unique breed, which is cause when you have grown up scratching a living out of the dirt behind stinking beeves. There is a lot of pride.
I have heard and read that here on FR. Is it a fact about the minerals?
Only IF bound together and before ‘picking-off’ the singles won’t amount to a hill of beans.
Dude, we’ve already been sold to many bidders. Hopefully we can get someone with balls to save us.
True, that.
Unfort., even ‘our side’ loves the bread and circuses. More-so the ESPN/Sports Center than Dancing With the Stars...but bread and circuses nonetheless.
Lives and personal fortunes are a TOUGH pill to swallow when it’s easier to just shut-up and gripe about the shackles.
I’m not sure WHAT will be the final straw, but I don’t see both sides forming lines to fire volleys into each other this time; I think it more the ‘guerrilla’ warfare of 1776....vs. tanks/drones/50cal.. *shudder*
It probably would not hurt to get knowledgeable on insuregncy war fare, either. Could be an interesting study, pray it isn't needed, but do your homework and don't expect to have notes if ya need it.
If things go hot, no one will have time to read a book.
Head to head, it would be a losing proposition. Read Sun Tsu, and your outcome may be different.
Recall, the colonial guys lost most engagements but won the prize.
And pray, like you have never prayed before, that none of that is needed.
The study commonly cited is USGS Bulletin 1740-B, but does not cover the Hammond place. It covers an area to the south. That doesn’t mean there are not minerals present on the Hammonds’ land, but it doesn’t mean they are there, either. That would depend on the geology under the Hammond ranch.
Interesting, so there could really be some truth to the rumor?
There was a similar one about the other stand off in Nevada but never heard anything more than rumors on it either.
Please allow me to join you in that prayer, My FRiend.

I lost my Oregon list when my computer crashed last year, so please send me your name by FReepmail if you want to be on this list.
