You’re kidding, right? There’s no way Trump would touch this issue with a 10-foot pole.

There’s absolutely nothing new or unique to what’s going on in Oregon. Nothing new about what the government is doing and nothing new about the lack of detailed news coverage. The same thing happened when I lived in Alaska in 1980 and, in complete violation of the Alaska Statehood Act, the federal government took control of 157 MILLION acres of land in the state of Alaska and set it aside for national parks, national monuments, national wildlife refuges, etc., etc., etc. According to the Alaska Statehood Act, the state was to have 50 years (until 2009) to select 104 million acres of land that was to remain under the control of the state. In setting aside that land, the federal government put an estimated 20-30,000 people out of work - in a state of only 400,000 people at the time.

Maybe its time for all that to change.

I saw a group of determined folks in Nebraska some 33 years ago put the issue of freedom for Christian schools there front and center.

They got Ronald Reagan’s sympathy and a backdown from the then Democrat governor Bob Kerrey.

People went to jail and a group of pastors got word to a judge they would take the padlock off a church even though sheriffs deputies were ordered to shoot anyone who did.

The judge backed off.
