"This has been an extremely fast investigation within the just past 12 hours," Blacksburg Police Chief Anthony Wilson said in a news release. "And we still have a great deal to do as there are multiple interviews to conduct and evidence" to collect and analyze "as we reconstruct the timeline of events leading up to Nicoleâs tragic death."
Nicole was reported missing Wednesday and was last seen in Blacksburg between midnight and 7 a.m., police said. A report issued after her disappearance said she had undergone a liver transplant and required prescription medicine daily.
Nicole's mother, Tammy Weeks, said in an interview Sunday that police came to her house about 2 p.m. Saturday to tell her that her daughter's body had been found.
"I'm shocked," said Weeks, 43, a cashier at a local department store. "I'm hurt. It's unbelievable."
Weeks said her daughter had survived a liver transplant, MRSA and lymphoma when she was 5.

what on earth...?
I predict it was an accidental death then covered up but we'll see.
Here are the names of the accused: Natalie Marie Keepers, 19 of Laurel, Md. and David Eisenhauer, 18, of Columbia, Md. Both engineering students. And he was a big track star in HS. And now they are child murderers, good going kids!
May this poor girl rest in peace and may the Lord comfort her mother and family.
Unfortunately, "typical" is pretty accurate. The poor girl.
Ditto on that. I'll have to wait for the details because this looks pretty fuzzy at this point. This looks bad at this stage, but I sure hope the details turn this case into something else.
Engineering students are generally focused upon their studies. I can’t imagine one (let alone TWO) getting involved in such heinous acts. And cyber bullying by her classmates! There are no words!
Lord, have Mercy, and may the Perpetual Light shine upon Nicole’s poor, tortured soul.
But the bullying, her mother said, continued on social media.

did Mom know about this ???
why did she allow her 13 yo to have access to a cell phone or computer and those sites ???
Survived liver xplant at 5 yrs old, bullied at school b/c of the scars. why were these kids not celebrating her life? She cried and pleaded with her mother to stay home from school.
OMG OMG OMG!
That’s my home region, and where I am now!
Both from MD? Disgusting!
“Weeks said her daughter had survived a liver transplant, MRSA and lymphoma when she was 5.”
She survived all of that only to be murdered by some scumbags at age 13. The scumbags make my blood boil.
Unfortunately, kids are not alone in the constant bullying of other children; adults are more than happy to do it, too. In another context, I am reminded of Lou Holtz’ comment admonishing his players “Don’t tell others your troubles; 80 percent don’t care and the 20 percent that do care actually are enjoying the fact you have troubles.” Its the 20 percent that do the bullying of all ages that scare me. The churches need to stress this, but unfortunately, they are losing their audience. Without the slightest evidence, I would imagine what happened here is she met this guy online, found he was the first to say nice things and be interested in her, and decides she will do anything to meet him. I would suspect it may have been an accident on his part then in a panic he convinces a girlfriend to help him cover up, but it in no way excuses an adult contacting a 13-year old nor burying the poor girl in a ditch in some forest. My heart goes out to three families in this situation; they must be devastated.
I don’t know. Maybe she found out about it later. Unfortunately, most school children have to be online in order to do their schoolwork. There’s no doing homework on paper and taking it to school. They are often required to participate in group discussions online. (I know this from my friends’ experience; my own children start institutional education at community college.)
It can be extremely hard to keep them from going online, even if you’re trying. On one occasion when my 15-year-old was not being allowed to use the internet at home, she went to her church choir practice and talked another teenager into handing over her cell phone, “It’s an emergency!”
LOL should’ve known he might be from Wilde Lake. Screwy school of low-lifes with the worst of Kolumbia ideology. Produces lots of winners. Yeah.
Young women, even the most beautiful are insecure. Unfortunately, they get in too deep and quickly. I suspect that is what happened to the young lady that joined ISIS recently.
God got her through all that, and she fought through all that, and he took her life
What kind of comfort can that family expect from God after all they've been thru with their daughter?
A God may have created the universe but he let it go at that.............Everything else, that God left up to our own choices.
They sound like Bernardo and Homolka, the Canadian serial killers of young girls.
Poor kid. I can’t imagine sending my daughter to be tortured every day. And now to end like this, horrible.
Sadly, you are probably right about why she snuck out to meet him.
I agree. She went looking online for some affirmation (no father mentioned ...) and ended up with this. Maybe some of the posters are correct that the death was accidental. It’s possible the student didn’t know she was 13 until she sneaked out to meet him.
